Denver had no rudder to start the season.
But now they have wins over Pitt and others*

A different twist to this one. The Lions will look pitiful most of the game only to come back and win!!

Our defense will continue to bend but not break, coming up big again in the forced TO department.

Can you say 6-2???

At home D59.
Denver won't shoot itself in the foot. [solid coaching]
Roarers 23
Broncs 19

Lions are a much better team at home. I wouldn't expect them to win big, but they will have a good chance to come out on top. 6-2 does sound enticing.

The Lions have been playing and feasting on sub 500 teams. Now they must pay the price as the good teams start rolling into town and on to their schedule. Look for a big loss against the Broncos. I'm going with a score of 41-17, Broncos...................Lions luck has just run out.

LOL, Nemo. You picked against the Lions again. You're 2-5 so far picking against them.

I think maybe at this point he is just doing it out of superstition?

Denver played tonight, so they have one day less to prepare.

My early thoughts are that Detroit has a shot to win this one. It's kind of nice. It's Halloween and we are still in the playoff hunt.

It's Halloween already in Idaho? We don't celebrate it here in Michigan for a couple of more days.

Actually...in Michigan some people kinda start the celebration tomorrow :(

Dang...Denver couldn't punch it in. Tie game.

Yea, the Broncos needed to score a TD there. Favre is only going to need about 6 seconds to score in OT.

Our boy Dre Bly got beat on the winning TD in OT. Gotta feel for the poor guy. He needs a call from his buddy Joey Blueskies to cheer him up.

Denver losing like that. I don't see the Broncos losing again next week. They'll be looking for revenge.

I like the Lions to win this one. I think the offense has a big day and Calvin has a break-out game. And the defense, buoyed by the loud Ford Field crowd, makes big plays.

Detroit 31, Denver 27

Not if the Lions coaches and players use the Lou Holtz publicicty approach.

For example if asked about their chances against Denver:

"Jay Cutler is a quarterback that reminds me a lot of Brett Favre. In fact he may be as good as Favre right now."

"We've been fortunate to get some wins but I don't like our chances against Denver"

etc.

Wow, FOUR straight rushes for the Lions to start the game, 30 yards rushing. Did the Lions replace Martz with Bobby Ross?

8 rushes, 2 passes on this drive. They have 55 yards rushing on their opening drive!

Just missed a pass to KJ on 3rd and 8, have to settle for the field goal.

3-0 Lions after 1 possession per team.

WTF??? The Lions attempted an onside kick????? Denver recovers at the Lions 46 yard line.

Yeah, now that the Broncos came away with 0 points from it, I don't mind the call.

What I don't mind even more is the fact that it was Thee's kicker that missed it, since we're matched up this week. :stirthepot::gun1:

Of course, he also has Shaun MacDonald and Kevin Jones.

Denver is the worst in the league for run defense. It showed in the first half. About 100 yards of rushing offense for the Lions by the half. Detroit scored on all 4 1st half posessions. Denver looks weak. They miss John Lynch.........Cutler was knocked out of the game. his leg was sandwiched. Lions look really good Lions look playoff bound Lions are having a good week.........

This is really looking ahead, but just think - the Thanksgiving game vs. GB could be for 1st place in the division, a bye week in the playoffs, and perhaps, the second best record in the NFC!!!!!

Somebody slap me..................

The CBS affiliate in Billings, Montana just switched games. I'd been watching the Lions game, and now we are watching San Diego at Minnesota. I can't believe the Lions routed someone so bad that the telecast was switched...........Score was 30-0 at the time of the switch.
We'll have a meaningful Thanksgiving Day game for the first time in many years. Lions were playing very well. They continue to be opportunistic, but the defense looks real good for being ranked 28th in the league to start the game. I gotta check to see who I picked for the Lion's game this week............:pound::pound::pound::pound:

Shaun Rogers with a 66 yard INT for a TD!!! Nice assist by Riola on the sideline, taking the oxygen mask away from the medic and putting in on Rogers' face! :pound::pound::pound:

Lions up 37-0!!!

Lions with the ball on the Broncos 34 yard line. JT in at Qb. I'd like to see them take out Roy, CJ and Jones and run TJ Duckett for the next 7 minutes.

Lions to non-believers: How ya like me now?:whoo:

Meat of te schedule coming up..but if they can win out at home, then the 10 victories predicted by Kitna is a possible reality.

The defense has looked good three straight weeks since the bye week, but who would have thought that they could push across 44 on the offensive end.

Darth Tater
11-04-2007, 07:06 PM
The Lions have made a believer out of me. They can beat the crappy teams and mediocre teams at the midway point of the season.

They probably will continue to win the ones they "should" win.

That's a really nice improvement.

Can they hang with the Colts and Pats? IMO, hell no...but the Dallas game will show us a lot.

They also need to split with the Packers. (I think their record against Favre in Green Bay is about as bad as their record against the Redskins in Washington.

But, hey...it sure is nice being 6-2. I'll take it...this year. ;)

I just looked at GB's remaining schedule and it looks like they'll have an easier time of it than we will.

They have Minnesota x2, Carolina, the Rams, Dallas, Chicago and us twice.

The 2 games that we play each other will be HUGE.

I think 6-2 happens for the Lions once every 10-15 years. Better enjoy it while you can!

It doesn't happen as often as the Lions lose 6 out of 8.

Its odds like those that are keeping me firmly rooted in Missouri.

That was a huge win. Now, if they were to beat Green Bay at Lambeau later this season, that would be a huger win.
