The Lions have let an impressive 6-2 record and Wild Card lead slip away with a 4 game losing streak. There's talk of a fragmented locker room. Roy Williams is likely out for the season.
Yup, same old Lions.
We've played teams that seem to be on the right track to developing a good core of players. The Packers are nearly complete in rebuilding their defense and Brett Favre still has what it takes to compete. The Vikings have found an system QB, they have very strong line play, and the pulled out a plumb during last year's draft.
The only difference from last season is that the Bears are worse, or we'd be 4-8 instead of 6-6 right now. Although we beat Dallas last season, we will fail to measure up to their standard this year. I look for a big loss as the Lions continue to collapse into the mess they've always been. Dallas 44 - Lions 13

I expect this to be a blowout loss. Dallas has something to play for and they'll be looking for revenge from last season.
Oh yeah, and the Cowboys are better coached, better prepared, more talented, faster, stronger, better tacklers, better blockers and know how to win.
Other than that, it should be a close game.

Well we can let Romo slice and dice us at his whim with Barber and Jones balancing his slick passes to Owens.
Or we can blitz his butt and make him play hurt. I say send 7 every play.
Looks like less people following the Lions these days. Must be all the losing. The bandwagon seems lighter these days.........

Tis true I'm afraid. Our gameday chat room was empty by the half of the Vikings game. There isn't much you can say, Kitna was interviewed on Sirius and he said that they will pass, pass, pass. Probably pass gas is what they will do.

I'm predicting a Lions victory, 23-20.
And no, I am not on drugs.

They usually play really well against Dallas.
But...
(1)Dallas is pumped because of Kitnas comments.
(2)Detroit is HORRIBLE lately.
(3)I bet 2 lunches on the Lions vs. Dallas a few weeks ago (I'm an idiot)
Three reason the cats get blown out, I fear.
and yes...We can address your substance abuse problem later

It's pretty sad when your KICKER is by FAR your best tackler on special teams. He takes the best angles to the ball carrier, uses the sideline to his advantage instead of over pursuing, and wraps up.

I've been extremely disappointed with Mike Martz this year, but he is calling a heck of a game today.
A great balance or runs and passes and the Lions have had Dallas on their heels the entire first half.
Nice blocking by the O-line, great routes by the receivers and prefect passing by Kitna before the WR even makes his break.
As much as running the ball has helped, I think the biggest difference in the game has been getting the TE involved. It forces Dallas to commit a LB to defending the TE pass and has opened up holes for the running game, which in turn has kept Kitna off the turf.

20-7 Detroit..................
WTF????
Where is Rod Serling....??

Wow, I'm starting to believe this NFL conspiracy crap. The Lions were ROBBED on 2 blatant pass interference non-calls in the first half. One in the end zone, which would have given them 1st and goal from the 1, and the 2nd just before the half which would have given the Lions a shot at a late FG.

Who the heck is Greg Blue??? I've never heard of him before. He just made 2 of the nicest open field tackles for the Lions this season. The second one saved a touchdown.
"You're my boy blue!"
(sorry, I couldn't resist)

Paris Lenon is an idiot. All he has to do is fall on the ball and the game is over. Instead, he tries to pick it up and run with it and kicks it right to Dallas. WE DIDN'T NEED POINTS, WE WERE WINNING. Idiot.
Shaun Rogers needs to be traded or cut. He's fat, lazy and unmotivated. He takes more snaps off than he plays. He was on the sideline during almost every crucial play in this game. Troy Aikman was all over him in this game.
What the heck was that crap with the kickoffs??? What a freaking joke. The team can't tackle, so they just hand the Cowboys field position.
Pathetic. Then again, I'm not surprised.

You see that time and time again on every level of football. It's crazy. They teach you what to do in Jr. High but guys keep doing it. Sickening, but Like Wart said...predictable.

Troy Aikman made a good point about the kick offs: why not just kick it out of bounds and save everyone the wear and tear?
Sadly, that would have been a better strategy.
Too bad Kitna isn't 28 years old. He really played well.

This was a game that you knew the Lions would lose, but you kept hoping or wondering/praying if they could pull it out?? Especially when the refs ignore the call pass interference on Dallas CB Roy Williams. I said dang, the refs protecting the Cowboys and Patriots from losing. Winners get all the calls.
The key plays IMO other than the one above were when the Lions had to settle for a FG on the second score when Kitna tried to throw a TD pass on second down and he could have just kept the ball and run up the middle for a 2 yard TD run.
The MISS FG by Hanson was huge and of course when Lenon did not recover the fumble and kicked it instead of falling on it......if you can't fall on it then kick it 40 yards.....
Romo fed so many passes to the his roommate you'd think they had were talking to each other on a transmitter. I mean even homer Troy Aikman commented that the Lions should just assign a linebacker to the TE, but nooo and he scores the winning TD.
Poor Kitna...you would have thought he had a bet with Pete Rose that the lions would win ten games as he was the most emotional guy out there. Good QB, but the defense failed the team in the end allowing the guys to get out of bounds on nearly every completed pass in Romo's under 2 minute offense. Arizona lost, so there is still a chance ..but they got to play defense just a little better than they did today and keep mixing up the run and pass on the offense.

Dre, I agree with everything in your post except for this part.
Arizona lost, so there is still a chance ..
This is the LIONS we're talking about. There is no hope. On the entrance to the Lions' locker room there's a quote:

Maybe a couple of Pistons fans can move that sign to the Celtics locker room entrance.

Yeah, I suppose my knees would hurt too if I was 380 pounds.
Rogers doesn't get any sympathy from me. He's lazy and always has been.

Well now I have seen it all.
I have never seen a ball carrier take a voluntary tank at the 1 yard line rather than waltz in for the touchdown.
I think Westbrook has lost it.
