The Celtics seem to be for real this year. The Pistons found out by a home loss that this new look Boston team is no joke.

They lead the league in defense and hold the best record (at the time of this post) at 29-3.

How many games do you think this Boston team will win?

I don't care if they win 70 regular season games as long as they don't win more than 11 in the post season:nod:

67. 2 honest losses, 5 bad games, 5 losses due to injury.

i think they will win close to 65 games. However, the big question should be: what do you think about a seven game series between Pistons and Celtics?

I think the Pistons can win it as long as they continue to develope the young guys and do not make any of the earlier series any longer than they have to be.

The Celtics will hit the wall at some point and start comming back to earth but they should still be comfortably in the 60's when its over.

What is down to earth with this Celtics team? They win with defense, and as long as they keep at it they'll keep winning barring any injuries. I say between 65 and 70.

I say 66-16. Their bench is better than I thought. Big Baby has thrived under Pollard's tutelage.

Pollard. What a space cadet.

Ray Allen has pinched nerve, likely to sit out against Charlotte
January 8, 2008

WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) -- Celtics guard Ray Allen (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3080/;_ylt=AiGGMIRMJ16JUneYFhURx2eLvLYF) has a pinched nerve in his neck and is doubtful for Wednesday's home game against the Charlotte Bobcats (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/cha/;_ylt=ApZwmf8TH7eTNQlDQRqsswOLvLYF), coach Doc Rivers said.

Allen hasn't looked good the last two games vs the Pistons or Grizzlies...but the article mentions that he just started feelin the pain the last 2 days. Maybe this is the start of the Celtic injury bug that we all figured would eventually happen.

Big Baby appears to be hurt too from all of those floor burns he got from the crashing and one situations last Saturday night:)

Historically Allen has shown himself to be the most injury prone of the Big 3 with KG being the least.

To actually make this poll valid, you would need to clean up the choices. Right now there are 5 choices:

(a) Under 60 games
(b) 60-65 games
(c) 65-70 games
(d) 70 games
(e) Over 72 games (breaking the Bulls record)

When you create poll choices for predicting something like wins, you should choose mutually exclusive outcomes, as well as allow for all possible outcomes. For example:

If you thought the Celtics would win exactly 65 games, then choice (b) or (c) would work
If you thought the Celtics would win exactly 70 games, then choice (c) or (d) would work.
If you thought the Celtics would win 71 or 72 games, there is no valid choice.

I do, of course.

Didn`t get that email.

Therefore, your validating power is of no consequence!

This was a great poll question. I'm just giving you a hard time that a couple of your poll choices are invalid. No big deal. :nerd2:

I think Allen is the one that they can adapt to being without and still win, but if either Pierce or KG go down for a sustained amount of time, then the 70 victories will be a pipedream.

With that being said, I did check the Boston's schedule and they play Charlotte on April 5th so Nazr has the opportunity to wreak some havoc on Pierce or KG and imobilize one of them for a few weeks...going into May :)

I got you.

You are right, there are a couple of choices that could go either way.

"Ok.

45 wins, tied for 4th seed in the east, will lose in 2nd round of playoffs......

How is that???" Quote Dlev59
