If they can somehow manage to get Mike Bibby and not give up anyone meaningful they are going to be tough again.

Lebron is still a big Media favorite.

You got to know that Stern his minions and the Media would love to see a Cavs - Celtics ECF.

Chris McCosky: Around the NBA

Bibby would elevate Cavs with Pistons, Celtics

http://www.detnews.com/graphics/columnistmugs/ChrisMcCosky.jpg AUBURN HILLS -- Keep an eye on Cleveland in the next couple of weeks.
If general manager Danny Ferry can figure out a way to acquire point guard Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings before the Feb. 21 trade deadline, the Eastern Conference becomes a legitimate three-horse race (Boston, Detroit and Cleveland).

There are many ifs, but if they do manage to pull that trade through, East will have the big 3 and the road to the finals will be definitely tougher. Imagine playing Cavs + Bibby in the 2nd round and Boston in the conference finals. That's going to leave some burn marks.

If that does happen, i'm still banking on the Cavs getting the 4th seed and BOS # 1. We'll still only have to face one.

ehhh...maybe pretty sure the doofah brothers dont see anything in the cavs (cept lbron) and there not giving him up...even if they did have they still wouldnt be that much better

They could definitely think about a a package like Bibby + Thomas for Gooden and Shannon Brown or Boobie. That way Cavs get the PG + a big for a big and a youngster and Kings get rid of Bibby and get a youngster back plus a productive big.

Cavs really need some help. Obviously that Larry's just not going to cut it. Another ugly loss, this time to Atlanta. Nobody besides LBJ did anything for the team.

It will help Cavs but Bibby is overrated.

That may be true, but he's heads above anyone else Cavs have on the roster.

Spurs don't look good at all. Well, since they just won a championship, if the history tells us anything it is that they won't win it this year.

I am not exactly sure what that has to do with the Cavs being really tough if they get Bibby.

The Cavs have won 8 out of their last ten

Varejao is a definite impact player. It is too bad that we didn't sign him last summer, though I am sure that the Cavs would have matched any offer that we made.

Anybody watch that game last night?

Lebron took a charge that was really not a charge, but got the call.

Then on the other end, he charged Oberto so blatantly that the top of Lebron's head actually went into the stomach of Oberto. He hit him like a torpedo, but of course, got the call.

Two crucial possessions in the last few minutes in an even game. To the Spurs credit, they kept their cool. That would be a good tape to show our guys.

Parker's 2 missed free throws with 24 seconds left is what killed em.

Yeah, those were some rough calls, although I think the charge that LeBron took was arguably the right call. But WTF does someone have to do to get a charge called against LeBron on the other end?

Parker's choke at the line was big, although I really don't understand why the Spurs didn't call timeout after rebounding LeBron's missed 3 with about 6 seconds left. Manu pushed it up and missed a tough jumper at the buzzer, but surely they could have gotten a better shot than that on an inbounds play after a timeout.

Somee spurs fans call for pop's head for this. I.e not different from this forum: demanding trades/firings based one game...

After an uninspiring first two months, the Cavaliers have regrouped to win 11 of 13, and at the halfway point, they look more determined to defend their Eastern Conference title than at any other time this season.

"Great teams know when to crank it up," said James, who added eight rebounds and eight assists in just 31 minutes.

It was Cleveland's most lopsided win since beating the Los Angeles Lakers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/lal/;_ylt=AhkLBA5o6uH7hYS5R6VMqEmQvLYF) by 38 on Nov. 30, 1994.

Nice road win for the Cavs at Staples...have to wonder how they would have faired if Bynum had been in the laker lineup. . That's three straight losses for the Lakers with out Bynum and they could have won all three vs Spurs, mavs and Cavs but came up short each time..

Meanwhile Cavs win their ninth out of 11 games to remain with the Hornets as the leagues hottest two teams. That second round matchup od Cavs vs Celtics is coming more into fruition as long as the Pistons hang on to win the division of course.

The game was delayed for 12 minutes late in the first quarter because of a small leak in the Staples Center roof. It resulted in a steady flow of drops falling under the north basket -- out of bounds but less than a foot from the baseline.

Arena spokesman Michael Roth said a roofing company inspected the roof Sunday morning and when the inspectors were finished, they removed their rain gear and left it along with some equipment on a catwalk over the north basket. The leak came from the clothing and equipment through slats in the catwalk.

"It helped me for the second half," James said. "I was able to get a long rest. I didn't come out in the second half because of that.

Cleveland's Anderson Varejao (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3847/;_ylt=AoXNBwcLGwaQJSjv.599GtqQvLYF) was helped from the court with 3:12 left in the third quarter with an injured left ankle. After James made a layup, Varejao stepped on the foot of Lakers G Sasha Vujacic (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3844/;_ylt=AlXhlPLf15_0P5t07zwvEQWQvLYF) as he entered the lane, trailing the play. X-rays were negative, and the team said Varejao was expected to undergo an MRI on Monday
Big loss if he is out for any length of time.

They are now minus the two guys that held out. They are now out due to injuries.

Cavaliers forward Varejao returns home from road trip to have more tests on injured ankle
January 28, 2008
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3847/;_ylt=Av_w5EpbrdCyV.31VQArBwKLvLYF) is coming home from Cleveland's road trip to undergo further tests on the left ankle he sprained during Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Lakers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/lal/;_ylt=Ai9VXtLA5a1Ipxheb0hzzYqLvLYF).
Varejao injured his ankle during the third quarter when he accidentally stepped on the foot of Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3844/;_ylt=AiRpYbJKa.1O1WtRYCwxC1eLvLYF).
X-rays taken a the Staples Center were negative, and the Cavaliers said an MRI taken Monday showed no additional injury beyond the sprain. The team does not yet know how long Varejao will be out.
Last week, the Cavaliers lost starting guard Sasha Pavlovic (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3722/;_ylt=AqU7YxaHStS4SSx8vu35RoyLvLYF) for at least six weeks with a left mid-foot sprain.

Lebron leads 4th quarter comeback and Cavs beat TB's on last second shot by Lebron.

A fan was heckling him bad during the the game and Lebron was interacting with him.

When asked after the game about it Lebron said

"I am here to entertain" and then when he remembered he was on network TV he said "and also to win".

NBA = WWE? LOL
