ATLANTA (AP) -- For the first time since 1982, the NBA is sending two teams back to the court for a do-over.
The Atlanta Hawks (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/atl/;_ylt=Asy8cu1u4wDyywmUV56zXbuLvLYF) and Miami Heat (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/mia/;_ylt=ArpYx5NT70SPAAbU365ao56LvLYF) must replay the final 51.9 seconds of their game last month because the official scorer ruled incorrectly that Shaquille O'Neal (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/847/;_ylt=AoPn.aoSqoM9WlWbwu0xYe.LvLYF) fouled out, the league said Friday.
For first time since '82, NBA upholds protest requiring replay - NBA - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AscL5YFFd.gkAgysGfaabp45nYcB?slug=ap-heat-hawksreplay&prov=ap&type=lgns)
Heck, always thought Shaq got an extra foul per game anyways........

I like it when they try and make it right. Great Shaq won't be there to play after all.

You would think the Heat would have want to have left it alone. The more losses they have the greater the chance of them getting Beasley in the draft.

I guess that was the time left when Shaq committed his 5th foul, which they wrongly counted as his 6th.

Said Haslem: "I'm not the kind of guy who likes to argue or cry over spilled milk, but we've got a second chance so we'll try to make the best of it."
Is it my imagination, or was Udonis's quote totally whack? In this analogy, what is the spilled milk?
Is he saying that the initial misruling = spilled milk
He isn't the type of guy that argues or cries over it, so he remained silent.
And now, the milk has been put back into the vessell from which it spilled, so he will try his best to drink it?
Replaying 51 seconds is totally absurd. It totally punishes the team that played their bench to give their starters extra energy at the end. It would be like taking a horse race and replaying the final 100 yards by putting all the horses in the positions where they were.

Yeah, they should put all the guys on the treadmill prior to the 51 seconds being played according to their minutes spent on the floor in the original game to make it fair.

Or how about this. Wouldn't it make more sense to play the make-up game directly after their next game? Then they will be about as exhausted as they initially were.

I would expect this in the NFL because the game matters !!!
You don't let the non-players decide the game !!! With a F-up ...
Cheat me and my boys.... F that S
Sheed wouldn't play that S ! F that S.,./'

A lot of if opportunites here. Do you let the fans who were still there at the end of this game back in for the final 51.9 seconds and then kick them out?
Other than Shaq, will the coaches have to put in the same players who played the 51. 9 seconds and then substitute with whomever they brought in before or do you play with your five fresh regular starting line-up (those who didn't foul out.)
How about playing it at halftime to confuse things even more..:).

The fans from the first game need to be reimbursed.
