I wonder if they know that the average high temperature in September in Indian Wells is 102?

Maybe they're going to play at night, a-la Rucker Park style. Now that would be cool, no big arena, a real live play-ground style NBA preseason game, with about 1000 fans outside with chain link nets.

The game will be played at night. In Oct when pre-season games are played the average temperate at night is in the mid seventies not 102.

Wonder who they will play?? If it is the Pistons I am there,...heck if it is a weekend, I will probably go just to be a part of this event....I live about 90 miles from there.

By the way Buddha. LA Piston, Robert Micheal and whomever else is in the hood, I just snagged two Clipper/Piston tickets at Staples for me and the missus from Stubhub for $46 each and they are 5 rows off the floor in sect 117

They have about 4 others left for $44 each in section 107, row 7 behind the hoop and two others for $48 each in sect 106, row M which is literally on the floor behind the hoop. Grab them at stubhub.com before some else does if you want to Flip twitch up close and personal. :)

Last time I went to a Clippers-Pistons game I wound in the operating room at the hospital after the game.

It's a little ironic that the "Suns" find it too hot to play outside during the day.

It will be interesting to see how this is marketed. The NBA has been going all out with gimmicks the last couple of years.

"Watch Shawn Marion whine that the misting fan is aimed at White Jesus and Black Jesus instead of him! It's high entertainment! Can't see it anywhere else! Our camera operators will gratuitously pan across women's breasts! No hotter objectification this side of the Internets!

Also the Phoenix Suns, who made basketball worth watching again!! (although we're contractually obligated to make a crack about how boring and meaningless NBA preseason, regular season, and early-round playoff games are)"

I wonder if the players will be allowed to wear sunglasses.

Its now official, mark that date of 10/11 Suns vs Nuggets in Indian wells, CA (Palms Springs.)

For those in SoCal let's plan a tailgater and then go inside the stadium with our Piston gear on and chant DEETROIT Basketballlll...especially since we will be the defending champs???

Suns to host outdoor game (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/0218suns.html)

The game will be played at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, which has the look of a roof-less NBA arena because it is only 8 years old and boasts loge seating and 44 suites. It is a 16,100-seat stadium that is the Pacific Life Open home

Did you have that same operation as Larry Brown? :pound::pound::pound:

Did you have that same operation as Larry Brown? :pound::pound::pound:

Actually no I did not

I just had had 6 operations on my right ankle due to it being crushed in a snowmobile accident up in Lake Tahoe.

The night of the game my leg got infected big time.

They tried to drain it with drugs. It did not work.

I needed a 7th operation to slice my shin open at least 4" worth so they could clean out all the puss.

They scheduled my operation for the last one that day. When they sliced my leg open the puss flew out and went all over the operating room. After the operation they had to totally sterilize the entire operating room.

When they removed the bandage the next day in my hospital room to check on the wound, even though I was heavily sedated with pain killer the pain was excruciating as they tore the bandage away from raw open wound which it had become stuck to by the coagulated blood.

All in all not a very pleasant experience.

I think we won that game, but I don't recall.

That was over 25 years ago and fortunately that leg has held up fine and I have not needed another operation so far on it.

So, the Suns are going to play outside? That's neat.

Nice change of subject. It was reminding me of a Lee Running Thread injury post.
