Congratulations to Colorado freshman forward Brittany Spears on being named the Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week (http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=3910&SPID=258&DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=1364674). Spears helped Colorado win its 10th straight game with a 16-point, seven-rebound effort against Pepperdine.
As for her name, yes, she really is named Brittany Spears, and yes, if you have a joke she's already heard it. And it gets better. Her roommate is a teammate named Whitney Houston (http://www.thedenverchannel.com/sports/13998467/detail.html).
