No way Isiah survives much longer. No way. With the sexual harassment thing and the losing thing, Zeke's got no-thing to offer the Knicks.
ESPN - Knicks assent to several demands to get Walsh - NBA (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3325211)
I forget what happened in Indy - did Walsh fire Isiah or did he just move on?

The owners brought in Bird, who had history with Isiah (bad history... lol), and wanted to bring in cola as his head coach. So walsh went with the company line... never really saw what his view on the subject was...
Bird is the best thing that ever happened to Pacer basketball (well from pistons point of view)

You are probably correct. Then again, Dolan loves Zeke, and it was earlier reported that Dolan was searching for a new President who might be willing to retain Thomas as coach.
Needless to say, Walsh is probably the only GM in the entire NBA who has worked with Zeke, has a positive impression of Zeke, and might actually retain him. Perhaps this is even why Dolan hired Walsh specifically.
Only time will tell.
The Knicks fly back from a five game road trip tomorrow night after the game. That means less than 48 hours left in Isiah's tenure as coach because Walsh will do the deed in person.
Mark Jackson will be on the bench by the time the Knicks get here on Tuesday night.
At least according to my Magic Eight Ball.

Dolan's Preference Is To Keep Isiah Thomas As Head Coach
James Dolan's 'preference' is to keep Isiah Thomas as Knicks coach (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/2008/03/27/2008-03-27_james_dolans_preference_is_to_keep_isiah.html)

We announce our all time team with the Knicks in town... if walsh has any class and plans on firing him he'll wait till after that night... firing him at this point can't help the rest of the season... only add to there ping pong balls

Zekes problem is he plays the kids too much. That's the reason JD won't play rookies. They just can't win.
That's why B. Malone quit on Zeke in Toronto, Zeke wanted him to play the kids and Malone wanted to win.
How many coaches will play kids with their job always on the line? None.
The Knicks owe Zeke $12M. so he's staying in some capacity. Zeke aint a crook like Larry B.

Speaking of LB, Stoney & Wojo said today there's a rumor that LB says he bored and wants to coach again.
Come-on Joe...pull the trigger in time for the playoffs

I hope Walsh shows some class and dosn't can him before the all time Pistons great show on Tuesday.. If he does Davison should save face and hire his as a Pistons scout:)
But if there is a buyout and it's $12 mil, I would take it and go back home and coach high school ball in Chicago. Why does he want to put up with so much negativity from the NY fans and NBA media? Oh yeah, he was a Bad Boy with Pistons DNA:gun1:
Had he left earlier, he could have possibly replaced Kelvin Sampson at IU:sssh:
I think Isiah almost has to leave. Give the Organization a fresh start. Isiah gave it his best shot, took a few gambles that did not pay out and thats about it. To hang on as head coach now just does not seem like the best thing to do.
Let him finish out the season and find a new coach.

If his coaching skills match his broadcasting skills, he will not last long!
They'll offer Isiah a job within the organization. That's assuming that Dolan still loves the guy. Isiah should take the offer so that he may collect the rest of his contract. Nobody else will want him at this point, except maybe a Big Ten School............

Isiah is hire-able.

Think so? I kind of like him as a broadcaster. Though I recognize it's a low bar. There are times when he really seems as if he has seen an NBA game before - something I'm not sure about half them have ever done.
Isiah is hire-able.
Really? in the NBA? Who? Where?

Seems like Isiah's draft picks have been OK. Wonder how he'd rate against Joe D? Isiah never woulda gone with that Darko pick. No way. Isiah, being the hard-nosed guy that is, can smell a soft pretzel from miles away.

It's no rumor, it was straight from LB himself:
