Ok, here we are, 2nd seed locked - just counting down the last couple of weeks of the season.
Our Pistons have looked like world beaters or slackers depending on the day (Wednesdays lately, thanks Dre) and opponent.
So, who knows what will happen. However, if the Pistons don`t bring home the title, what team would you like to see win it all??

The teams I would least like to win it all are the Celtics and the Lakers. If it isn't going to be the Pistons, I'd say that anyone outside of those two teams would be OK with me. Well, I wouldn't want Phoenix to win it either, because of Shaq, although I really don't see much danger of that happening. I'm all about spite. :heh:

well nobody in the east.... guess because i see them as the enemy all year in the standings....
No on LA... they got just to good of a deal from memphis
No on Phoenix.... never cared for them
I guess I'd have to pick between San Ant and New Orleans... I really like Chris Paul and respect what San Ant has done over the last decade... but San has won more then us so in the end....
If the Pistons can't win it all I hope the New Orleans Hornets win it all.

I think we can win it if we get the needed rest...key word rest.
Now I'm like D4E..I start with the teams I'd hate to see win it if the Pistons can't...
1) Celtics
2) Cavs
3) Magic
Anyway..I'll take Utah.

I picked Golden State, because I would like to see more TV appearances for Stephen Jackson.
Celts - always good when the team that beats you wins it all.
Lakers - I'd really like Kobe to win more titles than Shaq.

I hate Utah. Malone and Stockton really bug me. Once those two retire, I probably won't mind that team.
I agree about Pistons getting rest. You can't get enough rest these days.

I picked "Other." New Orleans. Wouldn't mind Dallas either.

Lakers.
I hate BOS, can't root for them. PHO sucks as well. I don't want the Spurs to repeat, and there isn't really anyone else who has a chance besides them.
It'd be cool to actually see NOH take it, but i don't think i can handle the CP3 hype getting worse than it is.

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Orlando win. Golden State would be OK too. But mainly, I'm rooting for the Pistons/ Spurs style of play to win out again. I just like seeing the league try to change the rules and have it backfire.
It's like trying to Tiger-proof a golf course. It makes it hard for him, but for everyone else too and he just ends up winning by more.

Personally I'd like to see Miami win it this year. They're the feel-good story of this season.

I am going with OTHER and selecting the Hornets, my third favorite team behind the Pistons and Clippers.
Since they get no respect even in this mock poll, I am hoping that they get to the finals put a beat down on the C's to flip this finals thing just like the Pistons did to the favorite Lakers in 2004. BScott coach of the year and CP3 MVP!
Definitely don't want to see any Celtics or Laker parades this summer. Especially here where I would have to hear the local sports media refer to the Lakers in every conversation as the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers for a full year..:yellowprison:

My bad Dre. I totally forgot to add the Hornets to the poll.
To be honest, the Hornets are almost my pick too. The thing that`s keeping me from picking them is if West or CP3 goes down, or even have a bad game they don`t have a chance. They really lack that 3rd scorer, now if Bonzi steps up in the playoffs.............hmmmm.
Plus, I like the underdog factor here. What a story that would be!!
Scott has the coach of the year locked, however, there is no way in hell the NBA would give the MVP to CP3 over Kobe, Lebron, Garnett, Nash, Duncan, you can go on and on - whether he deserves it or not.

Dlev, I sort of doubt that CP will get the MVP as well, but the idea of Nash winning over guys like Shaq a few years ago also seemed completely unlikely, until it actually happened.

Nash had a couple of very good seasons prior to the MVP talk though. CP3 has came out of nowhere. If he doesn`t get it this year, goes out next year and rips up the league, they would almost have to give it to him.

I'm going with the Hornets first cuz they're kind of a Cinderella story (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg8lSyGavc4)...then SA cuz I respect their long-running organizational success.

This whole thread is a trap.
It's rigged I tell you.
Michigan State dang-it.
Anyway any team with exPistons on it would be cool.
Hornets are a feel good.
I'll go with the Jazz...
Good music along with a good team.
Celtics at #2...
Want them back as contenders.
Mavericks at #3...
Just because they NEED it...
Kobe can go home now...Don't like him.
LpGirl...Why do you???

I don't really like him or dislike him, but from a b-ball standpoint he is by far the best player in the game IMO, and fun as hell to watch.
And i like Bynum. Besides if Kobe's Lakers win it all, Shaq (who i really dislike) will pout, and ppl will stop saying Lebron is better then Kobe.

Jazz really beat the hell out of the Spurs tonight. Doesn't look like it's going to be their year.

I'd prefer seeing Warriors win it all, but since they're not going to make the playoffs my second choice is Spurs. They play it by the book.

I want the Nuggets to win it all if we don't. I like to watch all the starters (AC, AI, Carmelo, KMart, and Camby) and the bench players that play (J.R., Kleiza, Najera, Nene). (And yes, I know they don't have enough D to win, but I guess I feel about them the way some feel about Golden State or Phoenix). I like watching them so much more than say the predictably superior but boring Spurs.
Mostly though, I really really really want A.I. to get a ring. More than Nash (well maybe Nash too), more than Dirk, more than KG, more than Kidd. A.I. is my guy that I think should have a ring before he retires the most out of all these guys. It would be nice if all these veteran stars got rings, but after all how can they when our Pistons Starters and the Zoo Crew are going to reclaim and then sustain their dominance THIS YEAR!!!

The lakers winning it all would b e a terrific story.

Why? Unless you love Kobe...I'd rather see Shaq win at this point.
