Now, here's someone who has no money for the car service.

ESPN - Anthony arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence - NBA (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3346621)

NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3706) was arrested early Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, hours after his worst game of the season. The Denver Nuggets (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=den) forward was arrested on Interstate 25, police said. He was alone in the car and pulled over for weaving and not dimming his lights.
Detective Sharon Hahn said Anthony failed a series of sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI and then taken to police headquarters before being released to a "sober responsible party," Hahn said. Anthony is due in court May 14.

Little by little, Carmelo Anthony continues to make me a prophet. :burp:

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: I'm glad that Joe didn't draft this guy!

Finally he'll be forced to play some defense!

Debate revisited: Not sure about that...I think if Joe had drafted Melo he would have been a completely different player and character. He was only 20 or so then and still had a chanced to be schooled and molded differently based on the Piston environment. Even his defensive skills would have been developed by now. :sssh:

Even though he would have come in with LB as his first NBA coach, he would have still played some minutes and brought on slowly enough to learn all facets of the game behind Tay as opposed to being thrust into the lineup right away with all the pressure on him to be the man. CB, Ben and Sheed would have checked his ego before it got out of control and we would have had the best 6-7 man combo (with Dice) the last 2-3 seasons. Just think even in that second year under Brown, you have to think we would have beaten the Spurs in 5 with Melo and Dice coming of the bench than Dice and the combo of Delfino and Ham:nod:

Thanks. I could have done it without you guys, but it would have been very lonely.

As a resident of the Mile High City, I'm a first hand witness to this jackass. He puts up good numbers but will never be a "winner" in the NBA.

...not one molecule of Piston DNA in that guy.

The television station reported that Anthony's fiancee was called, but she refused to pick him up, and a Denver police sergeant ended up driving Anthony to the hotel where he and his fiancee were staying.

So either she was drunk too, or she is sick of his antics.

Also, doesn't he live in Denver? Why was he staying at a hotel? And why was he out at 3AM when his fiance was there?

Not looking good for Carmella.

I am sure glad he's not a Piston.

Supposely fiance did not want to bring there young child out at 3AM to deal with Melo's foolishness. Perhaps he was somewhere he should not have been.

That makes quite a bit of sense. I wouldn't have come either.

Actually, looks like someone might have jumped to false conclusions about her refusing to pick him up...
