Finally, the playoffs are about to begin, as CB said the other day, I concur. It`s time to make your predictions before the first game tips off on Saturday. I just completed my brackets on NBA.COM for the NBA Playoffs and I am going with.............................................. ...............

LA Lakers VS. Detroit Pistons

In the Finals!!!!!!! I think that should make Stern happy. No Lebron or Shaq, but Kobe ought to make them somewhat giddy. Oh yeah, the Pistons win it in 7 games!!!!!!!!!

Celtics vs. Lakers would make Stern even happier. KG vs. Kobe. Very marketable.

Utah vs. Boston is my pick.

I will go with LA and Detroit.

How about Phoenix, G.Hill signs there thinking he will finally make it out of the 1st round and they end up drawing the 6th seed against the defending champs who are at no 3.

Utah vs. Boston is my pick.

If Utah had HCA I would pick them to win it all!! Great team at home, terrible on the road.

Negative. I pick the Spurs to oust the Suns, in the first round.

Utah vs. Boston is my pick.

I'm with Dlev. Utah is mediocre at best on the road. Unless they have a total rebirth on the road, they are going down in the first round. Houston in 6. Don't forget, Utah is the 4 seed, but Houston has the better record, so they have HCA.

Because it's a good one.

I think Boston for sure & I'll pick the Lakers as the opponent...

Looks like Pistons - LA Lakers to me. Although I wouldn't count Boston and Spurs out.

It will take high-intensity basketball for Detroit to beat Boston in the ECF. Rivers will win the coaching matchup fo sho.

Has Rivers ever coached in the playoffs before?

I believe he did. He won Coach of the Year before, didn`t he?

Wouldn't take much for a less-experienced coach to outcoach Flip. Saw it happen last postseason with Urkle Sr.

Yes but his team did not make the playoffs that year. I don't think he has been. Amazing how Saunders has slipped in here to assume that a coach with no playoffs experience will out-coach him.

He's coached 4 teams to the playoffs, never made it out of the first round... all with orlando, including the 3-1 lead that they lost to our pistons

8-14 in the playoffs.... this is the first real good team he's taken to the playoffs, but I've always thought he's an overated coach. I think alot of credit for this year besides his big 3 has to go to the new assistant that is in charge of the defense.

his record of coaching... Doc Rivers Coaching Record - Basketball-Reference.com (http://www.basketball-reference.com/coaches/riverdo01c.html)

Who will be in the finals? That's easy. The Eastern Conference Champ vs The Western Conference Champ.

That's a guarantee. You can put that on the front page, the back page, whatever.;)

I'll say Celtics vs. Spurs.

Oh yea thats right. For some reason I thought he was fired before then but it was during their lottery season when they got the 1st pick when it happened.

Joe is now in the mix, so Flip has some help. We'll see what happens in the games though.

I know you are suppose to pick now, but the only team I see completing a first round sweep is the Celtics. The other three series in the east will probaly all go at least 5-6 games. One of the top six teams in the league will be gone after the first round after the Suns and Spurs meet.

The Hornets would have been better served playing the Nuggets, but blew that oportunity by losing to the same team they will open with. I think the Lakers would have had a harder time with the Mavs than Denver, since Dallas would have at least played some D...now it will be a 130-125 games with most of the Nuggets fouling out in the end per Sterns's directive so the Lakers can out last them.

We can probably choose three of the final four right now, the but that 4th one is up in the air.

How pissed would this forum be if Philly stretches the Pistons to 7? I hope Sheed and co. aren't "bored" with first-round matchups.

This is the fun part about this team. They could probably sweep Philly if they put their mind to it, but they could also get "bored" and extend the series unnecessarily.

I'd like to see Pistons vs. Hornets.

But then we'd be harrassed by the media telling everyone that it is the lowest rated Finals in history and the NBA needs to change the rules to prevent things like this from ever happening again.

2nd choice would be Pistons vs. Spurs, and have us completely demolish them to end their reign. Next year Bonner would be a starter.

It couldn't be worse than last year's ratings.

On the Detroit Pistons website, at least 4% of the fans voted that the Sixers would actually win the series:confused::confused:

A win is a win no matter who watches it, still goes in the record books.. I'm OK with playing the Spurs and Hornets cause I think we can beat them and beating. I must admit though I skeptical about playing the Lakers because if we lose I would have to put up with it for a whole year....and just don't trust our psyche in playing the Jazz especially since they have those 3 middle games at home...

I'm gonna go with BOS vs SA or BOS vs PHX.

I think Shaq is going to make a big difference for PHX when the game slows down. SA can get back if their injuries don't make it too difficult. The only way I see Kobe getting back to the dance is if he's gets the D Wade express all post season long.

Don`t think the Pistons can take out the Celtics huh Low?

As far as Kobe getting the D-Wade Express - I can hear Stern yelling as I type this..................ALL ABOARD!!!!!!!!!

I think the Pistons have a better chance of winning it this year than most give them credit for. Starters mins have been down, we have a bench which means plenty of weapons to throw at Boston. But 1st we have to get past Philly and Orlando.

Get past Boston and the West just does not have that one great team anymore.

I am not too worried about the Sixers. They just don't have the frontcourt to compete with us. And Milller/Green vs out guards should definetly go our way ( even if Afflalo does not play much ). Even if Igodala tourches Prince it will still not be enough for them.

And I can see Orlando falling apart against the Pistons. They don't have enough of a backcourt to keep up.

I truly believe that the Pistons have the talent to win it all. They are that good and very deep. But at some point they will be tested and will look to Flip for leadership. He will simply send his starters back out there and fail to make the necessary adjustments. End of season...again. I hope I am wrong on this.

I also strongly sense that AMIR JOHNSON will no longer be a secret when these playoffs are over. He will have at least one breakout game that will draw the attention of the entire league, and he may even affect an entire series or more.

Good luck Pistons!

Please don't call me a hater but.....

East: Boston beats ATL in 4. Detroit beats Philly in 5. Orlando beats Toronto in 6. Cleveland beats WASH in 6.

Boston beats Cleveland in 5. Detroit beats Orlando in 6.

Boston beats Detroit in 6.

West: Lakers beat Denver in 6. N.O. loses to Dallas in 6. San Antonio beats PHX in 6. Houston loses to UTAH in 6.

Lakers lose to UTAH in 6. Dallas loses to SAN ANTONIO in 6.

San Antonio beats Utah in 7.

As painful as it is to predict this:

FINALS: Boston beats SAN ANTONIO in 6.

It's hard to honestly say that there has been a better team in the NBA this year than Boston has been. They have stayed focused and hungry all year long. They seem poised and have the blessing of Stern.
