World Champs comming in as the road team try to beat off the upstart Hornets.

Great matchup: Parker vs. Paul.

Spurs are the wiley veterans, though. Spurs win in 7 to set up a WCF dream matchup (by the media's standards) with the Lakers.

I'd prefer Utah vs. New Orleans myself.

This one might go six, but I would lean toward the Hornets. So far not having any playoff experience has not hurt them at all.

If David West can score at will on TD, then this might be a sweep. I know Duncan did not have a good game, but if the Spurs had not hit those 12 three pointers, this may have been 35 point blowout. Even Kobe was yelling at his crib> MVP!! when CP3 went to the FT line :)

We held the Magic to 30 pts in the second half, and the Hornets held them to 33.

The Spurs showed their age tonight.

101-82 Hornets. Strange game with the delay between the 1st & 2nd quarters. Bowen hit a bunch of 3's in the 1st half, but again showed himself to be a cheap shot artist.

Duncan probably won't have another game like that one. Nor will Ginobili likely be as mediocre again against the defenders New Orleans has.

again showed himself to be a cheap shot artist.
After what Bonzi Wells did to him, that's a particularly ballsy complaint. People will believe what they want to believe, I suppose.

Did you hear me say what Bonzi did was "okay"? But after all Bowen has dished out over the years, I can't say he didn't deserve it.

I think what Wells did was perfectly fine, but then you won't find me calling Bowen a cheap shot artist, either.

What's Bowen done over the years that's so incredibly dirty? We, as Pistons fans, are hardly in a place to complain about basketball being played as the physical and strategic game that it should be.

We, as Pistons fans, are hardly in a place to complain about basketball being played as the physical and strategic game that it should be.Being a long time Pistons fan, I fully appreciate physical play. I also appreciate Bowen being a tough defender and 'strategically' trying to get in his opponents' heads. What I don't appreciate is that he, all to often, steps over the line of physicality with malicious intent during the course of play. His history of undercuts, knees, trips, and kicks are well documented...prime example: YouTube - Bruce Bowen kicks Wally (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRHwB12efXE)

The 'strategy' of attempting to injure your opponent with your feet should be reserved for the kick-boxing ring.

Two 20 point blow outs of ther Spurs and the Hornets have looked more impressive than the Lakers suspect 5-0 playoff record.

I will concede game three to the Spurs, but I think the Hornets comeback and win games 4 and five....

The Spurs need to switch Bowen onto Peja and put TP on CP3. What's killing them is the others. Let Paul go off. It's irrelevant. Unlike Paul, Bowen can shut down Peja.

Once they do this they'll have a better chance IMO in the games.

Also, This Hornets team reminds me of the Mavs that year they beat the Spurs. It's just a bad match-up.

It is possible that they are the best team in basketball right now.

Still, SA could even it back up and the pressure will get higher and higher for the Hornets as game 7 approaches.

This Popovich guy needs to be rolled. His team has been outscored by 35 points in the 3rd quarter after 2 games. Nice halftime adjustments bud !!!! He also has MOSES covering Chris Paul. Did that work the first game......NNNNNOOOOO. Did he change the matchup for the second game? NNNNNOOOOO. Man, this guy could take some coaching lessons from our boy FLIP... I hope the members of the Spurs Forum are FRYING this guy........

It would be nothing short of a miracle if this current Spur team can beat the current Hornet team 4 of the next 5 games.

I don`t see that happening.

Pop made the adjustment. TP is on CP3, and Bowen is on Peja. So far it's working out OK. Peja is scoreless. Too early to tell though.

Now if only we could teach Flip how to make an adjustment . . .

At the risk of sounding like i'm talking to myself in this thread. Spurs win. Brilliantly coached game by Pop (and i'm not just saying this b/c he listened to me, although that is part of it :))

Peja was negated by Bowen. Which took him off the floor alot, and effed up NO's spacing and didn't give CP3 much room to work with.

CP3 went off, DW scored some, but without Peja the Hornets couldn't put enough on the board to win since they're not exactly a defensive juggernaut.

Pop also put in a few different plays, one that was particularly effective that negated the double team on Duncan.

You can see why the Spurs are so effective in the PO's besides having Duncan. He's a really good coach.

CP3 and TP both put on a dazzling displays tonight. I love CB, but if either one of them was our starting PG we would be unstoppable.

CP didn't win the MVP, but if they get by the Spurs his team may be the one to stop the LA Kobes..

And how many steps does Genobli have to take to get called for traveling?

Bowen on Peja may have been the key as he was held to single digits for the first time this series.

Good entertaining game compared to the ugliness of the Cavs-Celtics.

So I guess this is what the first four games of the '05 finals were like for people who weren't fans of either SA or Detroit. Blowouts in every game make for a pretty uninteresting series, although I expect things will be tight in Game 5.

I am kind of in that crowd. It is interesting how huge the disparity is between home and road this year when the teams are so close talent wise.

Funny the Pistons have been the only team to win 3 road games in the 2008 playoff series and the only tea, in the elite eight to break through with a road victory in the second round. However in some media minds they would be probably only the third or fourth favorite to win the title.

By the time I tuned into this game at the beginning of the 4th, it was already over. Don't know what happen but the defending champs held serve and even though the Hornets still have HCA, the pressure is on them.

Hornets know how to turn it on in the second half. When David West and Chris Paul are on their game, its hard to beat them. So much for Ernie Johnson and Tim Leglers Spurs in Six song. This was in going 7 unless the Spurs come out tight in game six. Hornets just need to be within 3 at halftime and come out like they have been doing in each home game. if they do, then the Spurs are cooked at home Thursday...

Oh God, I just checked the score online. I taped this game so I could watch it if the Dastardly Spurs lost. I really am disconsolate because I have such an aversion to this team and I really hate to see them succeed and I can't stand to see them happy. Truly. I know it sounds severe. But I'm so glad I didn't watch the game live because I just couldn't take seeing them win.

Well, gazoo, I've got to root for the Lakers now. Who I also detest. GO LAKERS. I can't stand them either, but I am so ready for the Dastardly Spurs to be yesterday's newspaper.

Pretty telling.

Both of the remaining teams are the 2 i didn't want to see left in the WC. At this point, i don't know who the hell to root for her.

It's not so much the teams, but both coaches use their bench and make great adjustments. Neither are a preferable match-up for Flippy.

I think we will have to go alot deeper to beat either of team.

Also, Pargo shot them into that game, and then defensively took them out of the game. It was a little funny to watch. But NO just showed their youth under pressure. It didn't help that DW looked very un DW like. That back looked like it wore on him as the game went on.

I know Pargo scored 18 points, but he was controlling the show in the end and took 10 shots in the last 5 minutes and had 1 assist. CP who had 14 assists for the whole game only had 2 down the stretch as Pargo wouldn't give it up. I know they were struggling out there and Pargo may have got them close, but in the last 2 mins I would have put the ball back in CP3's hand to create and find the open man.

Yep now you know why Kobe won the MVP. He had the ball in his hands in the close games with jazz and LaBron was controlling the game in the end of the series with the Celtics. Letting Pargo control seem odd to me, but both CP and Scott allowed it???

At least, league's MVP has gone further this time that past season, Dirk Lolwitzki, what a joke.

Go Manu! You're the real Spurs MVP. The San Antonio's Police Department is still searching for Tim Duncan, who is currently dissapeared since 1st game against Suns. And also searching for the skills the last finals MVP forgot somewhere. You've to keep playing this way Manu! (but stop it against Detroit .__.).
