Lightning picked first.

Hey hockey fans, is this guy any good? As a Tampa fan, should I be geeked?

Sounds like the top hockey players join their teams right away...

Stamkos is a keeper. He single-handedly destroyed the Spits this year in the playoffs.

If I had a nickel for every star netminder that came out of Guelph...

This draft didn't have many players ready to contribute, as I believe Holland noticed. Red Wings have good history of drafting, but not necessarily with goaltending. They have Howard in the system, but it doesn't look like they see a potential starter in him. Maybe I am wrong, but that's how it appears at least today. There also was Stephan Liv, and McDonald, Kevin Hodson, and a couple of others. So, I guess we'll wait and see.
