His offensive game has been in decline since Nelson got to Golden State, but I think he's just not comfortable in that system. Also, I don't really care about his offense per se, and am more interested in his quality defense.

You have to remember that money has to work too. There's salary cap. You can't just trade a player-for-player in a lot of cases. And Joe said numerous times that he's not looking for a trade.

I would like to see us trade up in the draft to go high enough in the 2008 draft to get either Chris Douglas Roberts, Kevin Love or Devon Hardin. Right now Draft Express has Roberts going 17th, Hardin going 16th right behind Love at #15, so none of three are currently considered a lottery pick.

The trade wouldn't help us this year but it would still be a 2008 trade. At this point with Joe D. committed to giving our three Pistonteers regular rotation minutes, I don't see a need for us to make a trade to acquire another player who can play for us during the remainder of 2007-08.

    DraftExpress: Mock Draft

Unless you think our current roster can win it all there is a need to try to better the team to win it all.

It is a lot simpler to make a fantasy trade than a real trade, because you have to look at the next three to five years when making a trade unless you are trying to clear salary cap. Clearing salary cap won't help us win this year.

I have never liked the Smoltz for Alexander trade unless you are a Braves fan.

I'd like to work a trade to get either Salmons or Garcia (in that order) from Sacramento. With Martin & Artest back, Sac is overloaded at those positions. Unfortunately, we don't have a spare big man to offer them...makes me wish we still had Nazr :(

Nazr for Herrmann & Brezec got us pretty much nothing except dumping Nazr's contract.

Trade #1 Primoz Brezec and a 2008 1st round pick for Channing Frye.
Trade #2 Primoz Brezec and a 2008 1st round pick for Charlie Villanueva.
Trade #3 Jarvis Hayes and a 2008 1st round pick for Hakim Warrick and a 2008 2nd round pick
Trade #4 Ronald Murray, Jarvis Hayes, a 2008 1st round pick for Mickael Pietrus and a 2008 2nd round pick

I'd do anyone of these trade in a heartbeat.

But why would you do any of these trades?
What would villanueva or warrick bring to us that we dont already have?

I see Channing Frye as a good back up center and Pietrus as the best backup at the 3 that we have had in a long time so yes I agree with these two trades.

Do you really think we'd draft anyone better then villanueva or warrick? If we made that trade we'd have a good young player for a low cost. They would be under contract for a few years. All for a late round first pick and a expiring contract. Who else are we going to go after next year? We're going to have to fill 5 roster spots next year?

Shocking trade that would rock the NBA...

    Bresec ($2.75) + Murray (1.9) + Herrman (1.94) + 2nd draft pick in '08
    for
    Milicic ($6.5) + Navarro (0.54)

Ignoring the fact that Darko would probably get on a play and fly straight to Serbia and Navarro would never leave his BFF, Pau, I think it would be a pretty good deal. We'd get a defensive C and a nice backup PG in exchange for something that Memphis bably needs, expiring contracts.

Who's with me? Lee? bbJay? Lazy? Crickets...

Hahaha, I'd do that in a second but I don't think Memphis would. Hasn't Navarro been their main guy off the bench and actually pretty good?

Obviously Darko has been terrible for them but he did put us over the top in 04! ;)
