Dale Davis tracker or Big men the pistons might get in a Flip Murray, Primo Brezec and Jarvis Hayes (or less) package:

    1. Udonis Haslem...Miami boy less likely to go than, say, Blount
    2. Sheldon Williams ...Horford has made him expendable..good fit here
    3. Aaron Williams....Live body, good team guy, 5 spare fouls
    4. Nick Collison....Energy, doesnt need to score much
    5. its amazing how many teams have no 6'10" + presence on their bench

Get Mike Miller from the Grizzlies. They are obviously having a fire sale and we need to offer a few expirings and a draft pick plus someone else.

Maybe a deal like, Brezec, Afflalo and a first or second rounder?

He would back up both Rip and Tay, and is a great shooter and can slash as well. Imagine stuckey driving and kicking out to Miller.

Yeah, after watching Miller, I'm impressed by his slashing ability. He really does finish strong at the rim and seems to fight through contact really well.

I'm sold. His overall eFG this year is .602! That is ridiculous for an outside player. He gets in the paint on 28% of his attempts and shoots .703 from in there.

This guy is also very unselfish. I would say that he is too unselfish.

He is also a very active rebounder.

The problem is that we have to trade $8.25M of salary to get him. That would take Bresec (2.75) + Hayes (1.2) + Murray (1.9) + Lindsey (2.25). And we would have to get them to release Lindsey so that we could re-sign him. Too many pieces probably.

Maybe we could get Navarro thrown in too.

I like Miller. He's a little slow of foot, but is pretty scrappy.

You could imagine a three player rotation with Rip, Tay, and Miller at the two and three spots with five to ten minutes a game left over for Affalo. Unless you sent him to Memphis in the deal.

No way the Griz take on that many players though.

If they got rid of Navarro and released Lindsey back to us, they would only be taking on 1 additional player.

Let's get on the telephone and get this thing done.

Can't trade Primos until the 14th, but it never hurts to plan ahead.

    Agreed.

Get them to call you back by mentioning Amir Johnson, but then say that you made a mistake and he won't be a part of it.

Maybe we'll have Joe help out too if we hit any roadblocks.

How about Brezec, Herrmann, McDyess, Murray, Hunter, Hayes, Samb and two 2nd-round draft picks for Kobe?

Trading everybody except the starters works salary wise for getting Kobe. Maybe the Lakers can get an exemption so they can play ten guys at a time.

The sad thing is that if the Pistons dump the entire franchise except the starters to get Kobe, they only lose 13 points and 14 boards a game. Those could easily be made up though if the current starters and Kobe play 40 MPG.

If the Miller thing doesn't work out, I'm calling Mitch next.

Makes you wish we still had Nazr's $5mil contract to work with; that way we wouldn't have to offer a handful of contracts to get a decent player. Roscoe pointed out a while back that that $5mil salary spot could be a useful trading chip - now we don't have it anymore.

But I suppose Memphis wouldn't be interested in Nazr anyway, they already have a fine stable of big men.

Naz wasn't expiring. That was why it was so great to get rid of it.

For a team like Memphis, all they are interested in is getting relief next year. I don't see why they would really care how many players we shipped to them as long as they are all expiring contracts. They could waive them all and still have the deal work for them.

Looks more and more real. At this point seems like they would have to hold Marion out of the game tonight.

Shaq to Nash: 'I will not let you down'

Or do like when the Pistons traded Kelser and pull him out of the game in the third quarter.

    That happened?

It would be funny if he were traded to the other team and played for them in the 2nd half.
