I was watching one of those pre-game Pistons shows the other night and they were talking about it. They pulled him out of the game in the 3rd and didn't tell him what was going on until after the game.

I forget who they traded him for. Vinnie?

Kgreg's deal for Miller seems like a good option...

The stars are lined up similar to 04... this is a rare op to use multiple exps to acquire a big man.... all things being equal we should use the assets for a center as they are much harder to find via FA and the draft.... Our MLE could bring in a solid SF this summer.

    Let's see if this sticks:

Seattle receives: Dice, Murray, 1st rounder
    Detroit receives: Wilcox, Gelabale

Wilcox would play exclusively at Center... his forte is the P&R and scoring in the paint.
His contract expires the same year as Sheed's... this lines up with bringing Samb into a larger role.
It gives Amir a chance to gain minutes while making our backup 5 a strength instead of the current weakness.
    Gelabale assigned to the D-League

    C- Sheed, Wilcox, Brezec
    PF- Brahma, Amir, Wilcox
    SF- Tay, Hermann, Hayes
    SG- Rip, Afflalo, Stuckey
    PG- C.B., Stuckey, Hunter

What the hell, why not eat the cake too... along the lines of KGregs deal:

Memphis receives: Brezec, Hermann, Hayes, Afflalo, our TPE
Pistons receive: Miller, Jacobson (exp filler)

It gives the Grizz more PT for Rudy Gay and our 07 1st rounder.

    New lineup:

C- Sheed 30 MPG... Wilcox 18 MPG, Samb (insurance)
PF- Jmax 25 MPG, Amir 23 MPG, Wilcox (in case these kids don't cut it)
SF- Tay 23 MPG, Miller 25 MPG, Amir
SG- Rip 32 MPG, Tay 8 MPG, Stuckey 8 MPG
PG- C.B. 32 MPG, Stuckey 16 MPG, Hunter (playoffs)

HQ, why not take the AV and make a dart board :^)

    I like that trade.
I think Maxiell is a better player than Wilcox today, and I don't think very highly of Maxiell. Wilcox is an equally bad rebounder, stupider (i.e., much worse defensively), is less talented offensively, and gets to the line less.

His sole piece of luck is to play for the tanking, mismanaged, fraudulently owned, big-man-deprived Seattle SuperSonics.

My opinion of Amir is declining by the week as he continues down the Darko path, so you could be right about him.

That's funny. I remember reading that when Jack McCloskey became the GM of the Pistons, he called the Lakers GM and offered him any "X" (3 or 5 or 6) Pistons for Magic Johnson. By the end of the call, he was so desperate to make a splash, he offered the Lakers GM the entire Pistons roster for Magic.

Needless to say, the Pistons were so bad at the time, the Lakers wouldn't take the deal.

Wilcox will do his thing better than Maxiell and Amir but we don't want that. We would rather gamble that either guy can deliver those other things that Wilcox doesn't provide as a player.

I wouldn't trade afflalo as part of a package to get Mike Miller even though Miller is one of my fav players. I'd be more inclide to cough up a 1st rounder instead.

I don't think the Sonics would be interested in Flip Murray. He played in Seattle a few years back and was a fan least-favorite.

I think Wilcox is a good player with some serious limitations. He doesn't play much defense. I'm sure he could learn, but it hasn't been a priority during his Seattle tenure. He doesn't rebound very well either, but with the Sonics unorganized play, it's hard to get into good position before someone hoists up a crazy shot. So I guess I don't really know if he can rebound.

He does have crazy athleticism, and decent offensive skills. If the Pistons played him, I think Sheed would have to move to the center position. CW could probably be had for an expiring contract, since the Sonics seem very interested in dumping salary and keeping the costs low.

OK at first I was just joking, but if we really could trade, Herrmann, Hunter, Murray and Hayes for Mike Miller.............DO IT!!! DO IT!!!! DO IT I SAY!!!!!

I'd even throw in a 1st rounder or .........(long sigh & many tears) Arron Afflalo. I like AA, but man Mike Miller......WHEW!!!! This would solve many things wrong with this team. One- it would cut Rips mins, Two - It would push Tayshaun at the SF spot and cut his mins down. We would have a legit 8 man rotation going into the playoffs (5 starters + Max, Stuck and MM). We get more athleticism at the wing position - Miller is alot better slasher than Tayshaun. Lastly we'd have to bring Samb back and suit him up every night.
