Based on the photos of Stuckey from the thing Buddha posted, it looks like he doesn't have any tattoos.

I like that even though I have one myself.

    Go Hot Rod!

The S.I. draft analyst compared Rod to Bobby Jackson. I could live with that kind of career.

Truth be told, the guy Stucky reminds me of is Chauncey Billups, only bigger. If Stucky was in the Big 12 instead of the Big-Sky, like Billups was, then Stuckey probably would've gone higher. I have no doubts about Stucky's ability to give us quality production off the bench at the 2, but can he play the point? I've seen him play live twice and I've never seen him even run a pick and roll. He just takes the screen and goes. That can certainly be coached, but it hasn't been shown on the court yet.

    Stuckey is a PG.

Not everyone gets invited to John Stockton's house! I know, I bought a star map and brought a crowbar!

I didn't hear that Stuckey was invited to Stocks house.

    Can you elaborate?

Deron Williams spent last summer getting "harder" and Stockton worked with him on his game, at his house.

    How cool is that?

I was sort of hoping you meant that Stuckey was hanging out with John Stockton.

Can he lead the summer league in scoring?

I think it depends on how many minutes he gets.

I think this guy along with AJ are going to put excitement back in Piston hoops, the kind the city hasn't seen since the Bad Boy days.

I know a lot of posters will disagree with me on this, but as I have posted before as good as the Pistons have been the last five years I have always found them bland but good for you. The "Oatmeal Team"

I think AJ and RS can put the Pistons right up front in the ESPN highlight films and make them national media darlings.

Would this be good or bad? I don't know but it sure will be exciting.

RS for rookie of the year.

I can agree with that especially if Joe D gets a guy like Matt Barnes to play behind Tayshaun. Stuckey-Afflalo-Barnes-Johnson-Maxiel lineup would be very fun to watch if they were allowed to run from the fast break. It would be a great change of pace from the starting 5.

Also, I do think that because Detroit doestn really have someone to consistenly get to the hoop Pistons basketball wasnt that exciting but with Stuckey being able to break down defenses and finish strong I think that could change especially if Johnson can have a Tyrus Thomas like effect on the Pistons.

It is not so much a matter of being allowed to run from the fast break.

    It is more

    1. Do you have rebounder you you can rely on to get defensive boards so that you can release your guards for the fast break?
    2. Can he not only rebound but can he throw an outlet pass with enough skill quickly enough after the rebound to initiate the fast break?
    3. Do you have a guard in the middle of the fast break who can make intelligent enough decisions on the fast break so that you can finish most of them with 2 or 3 points?

AJ is a very good rebounder, but a lot of his rebounds up until this point in his career have been on the offensive glass. For the Pistons to become a fast break team AJ either needs to become a better, more consistent rebounder on the defensive glass and master the art of throwing the outlet pass accurately and quickly, which is no easy feat, or the Pistons need to find a big man who can. Hod Rod will also need to show that he can be the man in the middle who can make the right decisions on the fast break.

No team in NBA history ever mastered the fast break like "Showtime" did. Magic was the best fast break guard that has ever played the game bar none. Zeke was also very good and Bad Boy Bill was an excellent defensive rebounder and outlet passer, but "Showtime" was the best. As good as Nash is he is no Magic and Nash is still a long way away from a ring.

all i have to say is Marco Belinelli 37 points ...
I love Joe as a person and a player but he seems stuck in the pre-rule change NBA
We still have no one to guard a really quick point guard and no instant guard offence off the bench .... Maybe Stuckey will work out but 3 guards when we got no small forward back up and a whole at center .... I don't get it

Nice game by Hot Rod today

One think is clear is that the guy can score and he is not shy about taking control when the game is on the line, just like Mr. Big Shot. I think that this will carry over to the NBA pretty quickly. He is definitely a better scorer than passer at this point in his career. He also gets to the line and hits his free throws.

To early to tell about his defense, other to say he is not that quick on defense and he so far has gotten burned by two very quick guards in the two games, though I think he did a little better job today.

    Overall, so far so good

    :hoops:
