Well, that's kind of disappointing because you sold me on Crittenton, but that means if Atlanta trades #11 to Portland and they use it on Crittenton then Acie Law drops to us, right?...or do the Clips grab him?

Have to think that the Clips take a PG...they have to right?

If you look at rodney white's draft report, he looks eeerily similar to crittenton when they say, tantalizing potential...hasn't proved anything. I say he's worth rolling the dice for detroit. but will LAC go after him because they already did the same thing with Livingston.

Sounds like Javaris is a solid bet to stay in GA going to the Hawks.

Question I've been pondering is should Joe go after the best PG available or take the best player period regardless of position.

I'm leaning towards the latter personally. I would rather have a for sure 2/3 than roll the dice with a bust or a career backup PG.

For example. Lets say Nick Young slips to 15. Him or Stuckey?

Seattle has the number 2 pick, and the 31st and 35th pick. Today's paper mentions the Sonics are interested in Acie Law.

    Sonics quiet on GM search

There is no way that Acie falls to the 31st spot, so perhaps the Sonics are looking at a Rashard Lewis trade for a draft pick. Hmmmm.....

    Go with the best player.

This team could use a backup PG
This team could use a slashing guard/forward
This team could use some true centers.

The best player should be in that list somewhere when it's the Pistons turn to pick.

Now should the Pistons get the best player available with their second pick? Lets say the Pistons get a center with the 15th pick. Should they go for the best player at 27th if he is also a center. I say No. Pistons must not let CB burn out again. Pistons need some size and freshness in the front court, and a scorer off the bench is needed too much.

Unfortunately, you can't trade a player for a pick. A player's contract has value but the pick has a value in trade of $0.

So some players would have to move as well. Tay and the pick for Shard?

Think he could fall to 27th? Then the Pistons could get him at 27 along with another player with the 15th pick.

That would really be a hard choice. Tayshaun is one of my favorite players, and his defense is much better than Rashard's.

However, after watching many Sonics games up close this past season, I am sold on Lewis. He is very fast, has great handles, passes well, can shoot the lights out, and just dominated games when Ray Allen was out. He could really help solve the Pistons scoring drought problem.

I'm not sure how all the salary stuff works out, but the Pistons may be able to pry a Center project out of Seattle with the pick as well. Petro and Sene will see very few minutes with Swift returning, and we may be able to pick up the next "mystery man" for our bench.

I don't know. The mock draft I looked at has him going 20th to Miami. Dropping to 31st seems like wishful thinking, unless they have a plan...

I think Noah might fall as well. I don't know how far though.

His measurables were pretty impressive, same size as Oden with way more spring.

    I can't believe he's a legit 6'11"... wow.

Not saying I'd take him over Oden, but that sure didn't hurt him at all.

before the Cleveland series, I'd say no way. Cause Tay gets it done in the playoffs and is such a great team guy and defender. Now it's more of a HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?????????????

I'd still probably keep Tay just because his contract is so good and he makes so few bad decisions.

    Interesting stuff. Thanks Slippy.

Hopefully Blakely will keep the info coming regarding the players coming in and related draft stuff. It's about the only thing Pistons that I can think about without becoming upset.
