Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft Thanks for the info Tater mate. Got another one. PAT Made for kickers?
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft PAT is point after touchdown. The kicker gets an easy kick (Almost never missed) which is one point in real football and usually one point in fantasy. You lose points if your kicker misses a field goal or extra point. Side note...if a team goes for a two point conversion (run or pass which is harder and relatively rare) you'll get credit for it if your player (any position) was involved. Unlike hockey, where, say, a goalie scores or gets an assist and you get no credit, if your kicker throws a touchdown pass you will get credit (I think), But that is EXTREMELY rare, although I think the Patriots kicker did it fairly recently.
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft It's just like the two point kick after a try but the degree of difficulty is almost nil because it is from point blank range, even though both sides lineup and the defense tries to block or harass the kicker.
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft Ok so I'm also wondering about the positions. Why do we have 6 bench slots when there are only 9 scoring slots? Teams only play once a week right? So if everyone only has 1 game, when will these bench guys ever get a run? And who should you usually stock there? PS - I've seen probably half a dozen games in my life so I sort of understand how the game goes, just not tactics, positions or fantasy-wise. haha. PPS - I just found a website which should help me. NFL Play Football: Football Basics
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft INJURIES! In football they happen all the time. You'll wish after one month that you had more bench spots, lol. Plus there is a bye week for each team...I was going to explain that too. Good questions. If you draft a quarterback and a backup quarterback make sure they don't have the same bye week off. If they do, get a different back up. So look at team schedules when making your list.
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft Who should you stock...well, personally I have one or two backup qb's, like 5 running backs total, and maybe 7 or 8 wide receivers. Drafting: most people take one if not two running backs with their first two picks (nobody will fault you for grabbing Peyton Manning,QB, though). Running backs become more valuable as the season progresses due to injuries and they get the ball more than anyone.
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft actually this site is really good!! it looks all childish with bells and whistles etc, but it's perfect for me. :nerd2: NFL Play Football: Football Basics Lesson 2 escapes me though... Roscoe knows.
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft Anyone who hasn't played fantasy football before should really look at a mock draft from any year. Don't bother much looking at individual players, but look at the positions. You'll see stuff like you shouldn't draft a kicker or defense too early no matter how good they are. Conversely, generally think running backs in the first two rounds.
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft webz, football is so much different than rugby because it so unbelievably violent. The pads protect and contribute to that. I believe the average career of a pro NFL player is under 4 years. A lot of guys don't make it, and many are physically destroyed in their later years. I still enjoy rugby quite a bit though. Especially when the Springboks or All Blacks are kicking the Wallabies' butts!
Re: 2007 PF.com Fantasty Football Draft - That was good advise, but I was to stupid to use it. - I propose we select for draft position. Not first come first served. LaTom should be removed from the draft. Whoever gets him wins.
We are full Twych unless the Commissioner (Jammertime) decides to expand the league size from 12 to 14. He's Canadian, so you never know...he's awfully fickle. If not we can put you in as a backup. There have been others asking to get in after we filled up too. Hey, send Jammertime a private message, it can't hurt.
We have filled the 12 league spots and currently have 3 people on the waiting list. If a spot becomes open before or during the season, we'll fill the vacancy in order from the list. I really don't want to exclude anyone, but I find that once you start getting past 12 teams the talent pool gets really thin. Between injuries and bye weeks, it's hard to field a full lineup each week.
More questions for whoever is willing to answer. I'm looking at defenses now. Trying to figure out what some of these are. Only ones I'm really stuck on are: TD - In what relation to TD's is this? Safe Tackles - ? Turnovers (Intercepts and Fumbles) - I'm guessing these are total FORCED I know what pts allowed, sacks and blk kicks are. Cheers.
I just voted on the poll too. I can make any draft date and time as long as it is before the 27th of August. After that, probably not at all. Any chance we can swing it a few days earlier Jammer?
I might be willing to share. If I can't keep after it, say 2 weeks in, I'll sell my interests for $5000.00. Because my team will be in first place and running away from the league.
Just to clarify, a safety is when an opponent is tackled in their own END ZONE. If the QB is tackled behind the line of scrimmage but not in the end zone, that is called a sack.
We might be able to do that. I'm getting antsy to draft anyway! hahaha I'll take a look and get back to you guys.
