I made it back home after a Sunday drive with the wife. Glad to see the Wings win. Glad to see my prediction was wrong. Still think the Flames will play us tough at home. Hasek not going to give up too many goals.

    Shots 97-35 lol
Wings gotta be the most inaccurate shooting team EVER!.

    Are you kidding me?
I have to agree with what both Darth and Roscoe said above. That should have been a 7-1 game, but because of Kipper's incredible play, he kept that game within range for his team. The Wings know that they have to continue to shoot with the same intensity and frequency for the rest of the series or the Flames will have a chance to tie this at home. They took advantage and capitalized today with the Flames sloppy, stupid mistakes in the first....gotta love PP's!! The 2nd was a bit scary, but we finalized it in the 3rd thanks to our youguns coming up big for us!!! 19, is he???? omg!!! And my favorite, Pavel (my cats namesake, fyi) came through for us AGAIN!!
    Keep it up guys!!!

    GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheerleader:

I am very proud of the Wings. I'm very excited to see the games in Calgary where they will face a desperate team that is excellent on home ice.

Once Zetterberg gets rolling and Bertuzzi returns, I'm seeing a very deep run for this team if we can stay healthy.

    GO MIGHTY, MIGHTY RED WINGS!

I think I'll call in a stat man and get a goal to shot % for the Wings and the rest of the league. I bet we're the least effective shooting team in the playoffs.

Geez, I don't think it is possible for Lang to play any sloppier or his line to play any slower.

It's just good fortune the Flames didn't score in the first period.

We gotta lay some hits on them and make some plays. If we can score first, it might break their back.

Tie game now. Draper just scored off a faceoff win to get the Wings back in it.

Ties 1-1 after 2 periods. Wings seemed to find their legs in the 2nd, they started taking the game to the Flames and their forechecking was very decent.

Hopefully they can keep it up in the 3rd and wear out Calgary playing 4 lines. Also, Bertuzzi should get better with more playing time.

Lidstrom is playing a horrible game. He gambles and Iginla scores the go ahead goal. Flames up 3-2.

I do not understand why that gigantic zero, Lilja is playing.

The Calgary mostly scores on powerplay. Why do we keep giving them chances?

Well, some people thought it was going to be easy, but Calgary is tough at home and they have a great goaltender.

Winning a game here will take a big effort.

I hope I am wrong, but I think Wings just lost huge momentum. They had the lead early in the third and all they had to do was stay out of penalty box. This would have effectively ended the game and most likely the series. Instead they pick up 3 penalties in a row and the rest is history. Now time to regroup and try to get that road win in the next game.

I'm officially concerned. I didn't like our energy to start, and Kiprusoff is damn near unbeatable on home ice.

I heard some radio jocks calling out Lidstrom this morning. He wasn't good against the Oil last year, and he didn't look great against the Flames last night.

Yzerman was on CBC during the 2nd intermission and said that Nik knows when to make a play and when to keep it simple. That giveaway pass to Zetterberg's backhand was a bad play. He should have just got it out of the zone. It's on Zetts too for not getting it, but Nik initiated the play.

I'm getting really sick of Lang. He's got a crucial faceoff at the end of the game and he loses it. His body language out there STINKS.

Seems like everyone is being on Lang - the fans and the media. I wonder what's up with that guy. He was so good in last year's playoffs and this being his contract year. I would've thought he'd play with more fire. Sometimes an injury can do something like that, but he's played poorly for a while now.

Cherry says the Wings play Euro puck [no fighting] and that's why they'll falter. They're not brutal enough.
2500 season ticket holders didn't even re-up for the playoffs.

OK Nemo that was a road score. Keep them straight.
They'll really need the refs to call a tight game if they're to have success.
