PISTONS: 2008-09 PISTONS SCHEDULE Looking at the schedule, the Pistons have 8 of their first 12 games on the road and will face the Celtics twice and the Cavs & Lakers once during that period which includes a 4 game west coast trip. Needless to say they will be battle tested after the first 12 games... I looked at the National TV schedule of the other teams and noted the following for ABC, TNT and ESPN Boston -could not tell by their schedule, but probably 25 games Cavs, Lakers and Suns, 25 games each Mavs 21 games SPurs 19 games Pistons & Rockets 14 games TrailBlazers 13 games Hornets 12 Magic 11 Bulls 10 Heat 9 Memphis 1 game vs Pistons on TNT Knicks 0
I checked some other teams too, and they don't show any national games for the Bobcats either. The Hawks show one game vs the Celtics. (the rematch) and the Clippers only show one game, their opener vs the Lakers. The schedule did not include any NBA TV games so possibly they will popped on there.
The road trips don't look too bad. Only three serious trips, maybe the worst one out of the way in Nov, one in early Jan, after Xmas might be a good time to go out of town, and Feb to Florida and New Orleans, which might be a distraction but might be a nice mid season change of pace. At least the weather will be better there. I also counted 13 back to backs and 2 four games in five nights, I don't think that is too bad, pretty sure there have been quite a few more some years.
The Pistons have 4 games vs. the Celtics. By the look of the rosters I say Pistons take the series 3-1
Are you saying that the Pistons roster is more aesthetically pleasing than the Celts? In the old days (Bird, Dennis Johnson, McKale, etc.) that was true but Boston has some handsome players on their team now. Tough call.
How many games you guys gonna catch? I don't think i can do a quarter season again... wife will Found a funny article on the low lights of the NBA schedule - pretty funny (but they dump on the pistons HARD!) Most Missable Games of the 2008-2009 Schedule « The Sport Count
