I actually thought about picking him up on Monday when he was still with Tampa. Then I figured I'd better wait to see if he was traded. When he went to Boston, I figured I should pull the trigger.

I also watched Kunitz closely when he was traded to Pittsburgh. After two great days, I couldn't resist. I like that move even better.

Like any moves though...we will see.

    Final week.

Premier matchup would be Jammer vs. Mikhail.

Jammer is virtually tied with Woodrow for first place (one point seperates them). Bragging rights at stake. No big difference between the first or second place bye though.

Mikhail is trying to hold off Bill Laimbeer's late push to make the playoffs at Mikhail's expense (four points seperate them). Bill plays the last place team (Superstarov) while Mikhail plays first place Jammer.

Roscoe and I battle for third place (i.e. the honor of playing either Mikhail or Bill in round one). 4th place plays Bezeach. Not sure it makes a difference.

Looking at these teams, I don't think there is a clear favorite. Obviously, the bye is a huge advantage, but after the first round is over the advantage is gone and you will have four teams pretty evenly matched.

I can see any of these teams winning it all, or getting knocked out right away. Should be fun.

Quite a finish to the regular season.

Woody barely edges out Jammer for first place in the regular season.

Mikhail pulls out a Houdini on the last day and holds off a charging Bill Laimbeer to make the playoffs (still not sure what happened on Sunday, but it must have been crazy).

5th seeded bezeach pummels me (the 4th seed) for the THIRD time this year. OK, the bad news for me is he has my number/karma favors him when we meet, and I play him in the first round of the playoffs starting today. The good news for me is ...It's gotta be tough to beat another fantasy team FOUR teams to none...right?

Well, Well, look who ended up in FIRST. It's about time!!!

My goalies, carried me the first two-thirds of the year, have been awful lately, but my guy Mats Sundin and others have really picked it up on the offense.

If my goalies can rest up this week, and get back on the ball after the bye, I should be pretty tough.

It SURE WOULD BE NICE to keep Tater out of the top spot. He's such a drag and blow-hard about all his banners. :shout::shout:

As roscoe said, LET'S GET IT ON!!!!

"Woody hasn't fit in that suit for decades."

Actually, that's probably a true statement!

Anyway, Jammer gets either the Sandwich Man or the red-hot Sokil (Brodeur).

I have a much easier time with the Beach Bum or the guy from St. Louis.

Why do you say that? Did you misspell winner? I sure hope I am on Sunday.

Some great battles to begin the playoffs.

They couldn't have been much closer.

Barring any adjustments by Yahoo in their totals:

After breaking the bezeach curse 6-3, looks like I advance to play Woodrow. (A rematch of our final two years ago Woody?).

Roscoe and Mikhail tied 5-5. First tiebreaker is goals (both had nine...so we move to the next tiebreaker which is assists. Mikhail is living a charmed life.He takes it 15-10. First Brodeur returns just in time for the playoffs. Then he slips by Bill last week....ohhh so close that was. Now he apparently wins the second tiebreak with Roscoe to play the other Cannuckian (Jammer).

    So

    #4 Darth vs. #1Woody

    and

    #6 Mikhail vs. #2 Jammer.

Sorry Roscoe. That thumbnail gives YOU the category for plus/minus.

But Mikhail has zero & you have minus 4 so he should get the category & that makes it 5-5.

    So it goes to tiebreak.

So I lost. This entire season was a waste.

Well, if I was going to lose to anyone, I'm happy it was Mik. And I hope he goes all the way.

I am going to go cry myself to sleep now.

    Hey guys,
Thanks for remembering me. It's been kind of crazy several months with our company being bought out. Now that I am out of the job, I will have more time to come here.

Did I actually win? I don't have live updates, so I'll have to rely on whatever you are telling me. Didn't really expect that, especially with Brodeur giving up 4 today. I guess I got lucky.

Please note that as any team moves into a bracket where it will be their final week of action, I plan to immediately lock those teams from making any further roster moves.

This includes both the consolation and championship brackets.

I have therefore already locked two teams in the championship bracket this morning.
