You better censor the dialogue between %$#@&^*(()*&^$# Jammer and I. It was fun.

Well, My draft strategy was that if I got picks 1-3 I was going Ovechkin, Crosby and Malkin (wasn't as solid on Malkin). Then I was going to hope either Nabokov or my favorite player Lecavalier was available. I actually would have taken Nabby over Lecavalier (and vried all season), but Roscoe made my decision for me by shocking me and taking a second goalie with his second pick).

So I had Malkin, Grabbed Lecavalier, and as planned Fleury was there for pick three. I like Bryzgalov who I got a few rounds later, and he is a solid second goalie (just on a bad team).

I really like D.Sedin and Pominville keeps getting better. My defense looks solid to me.

I'm telling you guys, that late Stamkos rookie pick is going to pay off big. He's on the Lightning and will be a stud I think (hope).

So, I don't know. I think overall I had a successful draft. Hopefully I can be competitive.

I am encouraging my friend (Wizard) to join the forum community so he can get in on the trash talk too. You guys think I'm bad????? Just wait.

So that was what you were doing instead of making your picks.:stirthepot:

I made all of my picks. :)

I went totally gonzo this year, drafted for goalkeeping, defense, +/- and penalty kill.

My forwards are pretty crappy, unless you consider that I probably have about 16 SGs amongst them.

During the season I might be able to pick up some better forwards along the way. Centers are a dime a dozen, I wish I hadn't picked one so early.

Not a bad strategy. You're right about the centers, but they are my favorite players.

Picking 5th, I had to grab Malkin when he fell to me. Almost got Nabokov next round anyhow, but Roscoe had to be a jerk! Actually, it made my decision easy. I got my favorite guy instead. I also still may regret not taking Nabby with my FIRST choice at #5 instead of Malkin. Depends how Malkin, Nabby, and my other goalies do, I guess.

I looked at last years stats after we drafted. I should be competitive in assists. That's about it.:pound:Who cares about the other 11 or so categories. :sssh:

I did get several players that I'll enjoy rooting for. :)

I picked up too many defenders in the middle of the draft and also too many guys from last year (mostly because I don't know much about any others). Probably should have just let the computer pick after the 8th round.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to a fun year. My expectations are low, so I'm just going to enjoy the ride...

Yeah, this is the one league I get into, but still have low expectations.

I grabbed a lot of my favorite guys, I wish I could have got Lidstrom.

It's funny. In all the leagues I've been in I RARELY get a quality Detroit player. They are way overpriced because most people I play with are Detroit fans. I had Kevin Jones on the Lions when he was a rookie and had a nice season. No big Wings, Pistons, Tigers, or other Lions.

No wonder I had so much trouble getting my picks!

I was picking goalies, +/_, and defense just like Roscoe.

Then, I wanted Zetterberg at #4, but Super beat me to him at #3, Zetterberg is a good +/_ guy, a great FW as a forward, and a goal scorer. What's not to like!!!

Super beat me to Osgood one pick ahead, and Roscoe beat me to Pomenville.

I did get Lidstrom, but not much else. I guess I'll have to rely on my superior managing ability, and the weak field I'm playing against.

I had Zetts last year. He was a beast for me. I also had Lidstrom. He is a HUGE +/- guy.

My strategy this years was to pretty much complety ignore the Goalie stats and focus on the other categories. I'm fairly happy with my draft. Of course there are a few players that I had targeted but went just before me, but that happens in every draft.

The 30 minutes leading up to the draft were fun.:pound:

Well, does anyone want to buy a slightly worn-out team???

Brind'Amour had knee surgery, and Schneider was released. I'm now two bricks short of a full load.

It's two weeks 'till the season starts and already I'm looking for free agents and the waiver wire.

    Anyone have any suggestions?? :)

We're watching you Woody. You seem to be having so much fun, we figured we would let you go. It was that, or spot you a 20 game lead.

I was kind of surprised we drafted an entire month before the season. I can see why you are bored, Woody. I worry if I drop someone now they will end up on Darth's team and then go have a career season.

I think our season has started. Hope everyone set their lineups...
