I was just checking out my other leagues on Yahoo and guess what time it is....

    OK, you're on the clock ... 0:59 ... 0:58 ... 0:57 ... - Roto Arcade - Fantasy - Yahoo! Sports

Looks like they've made some improvements for this year.

    Oh yeah baby!

Well, the season doesn't actually start for several more months, but the time to start thinking about football is upon us. You can already create a league in Yahoo.

What? You mean you guys haven't already started compiling your draft cheatsheets?

I guess thats what it takes to win one of these leagues. I'll be back to defend my title, with Brady or not.

Darth, I believe your signature may be offensive to both Jammer and Roscoe. You see, Eskimo usually only refers to the indigenous people of Alaska or Siberia, whereas those from arctic Canada and Greenland should be referred to as Inuits.
And Roscoe should just be referred to as Camericanian.

Oh, and yeah, does anyone want to play fantasy CFL? The season starts soon.

    Wow, very impressive.

We're not even sure I am human! Let's not get carried away!

This is sooooo funny, but only to you and Canadians. :D

CFL is to NFL what Rules is to League.

I've got an early suggestion for the league this season. Will we be scoring points for return punts/kicks again? Personally I feel this stat should be removed because it makes guys who would normally have no value become borderline starters. I'll throw some stats your way to make my point.

Nate Burleson finished 10th among WR with only 694 receiving yards and 9 TD's. His 1200+ return yards gave him more points than guys who had over 1000 yards and 12 TD's. Higher than guys like Plax Burress, Greg Jennings and Torry Holt. That's not really right.

Devin Hester finished 21st among WR despite only 299 receiving yards and 2 TD's.

Leon Washington finished 20th among RB with only 353 rushing yards and 3 TD's.
Jerious Norwood scored only 1 TD but finished ahead of guys with over 1000 yards or 6 TD's because of his 1300+ return yards.

And finally, Josh Cribbs, purely a PR/KR finished 36th (which is easily draftable) among WR with only a paltry 37 receiving yards and 0 TD's!! He scored more fantasy points than Lee Evans, Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, Reggie Brown, Laveranues Coles, etc. His 2214 return yards and 3 return TD's made that possible. Again, I don't believe rewarding these types of players is very common in most leagues and I would like to put forward a motion to remove this stat from the upcoming season. It may only be a small thing but I believe it would be beneficial.

    Any other thoughts? Agree/Disagree?

Personally, I like the PR/KR stats. It throws more players into the mix. Give some props to those crazy returners that risk their lives with 11 angry people running full speed at them.

That was actually exactly why I added it, to make the pool of draft worthy WRs a bit larger.

I do agree with you though, that their value shouldn't exceed that of legit WRs. The value of KR/PR yards can be adjusted, as can the value/weight of any other stat. Maybe that's something that whoever volunteers (I nominate Tater) to be commish can look at.

To be honest, I think WR is one of the deepest positions. And yes, I can see how it mixes things up a bit, but I don't see who is going to draft someone like Josh Cribbs purely based on his PR/KR abilities (let alone start him for that matter).
But that's not the main problem cos I don't think anyone would start a PR/KR. I'm thinking more that I guess I just don't like the idea of guys lucking out on drafts by picking a borderline draftable WR4/5 in Round 14 (think Nate Burleson last year) and then getting lucky when he becomes the teams KR and having him become a better fantasy producer than someone who picked a proper WR2/3 in the 4th round of the draft.

    Ya feel me?

I'd also be happy with a de-valued option, but if everyone wants to keep it in there, I'll deal with it. No problem. :)

You're just mad my Leon Washington beat you up last year. Deal with it.
They only get 1 pt for 25 yards. RB & WR get 1 pt. per 10 yards.

Damnit. You're right Jammer. I'm an addict. I can't bear to miss football even though it's my least favorite. But the thought of crushing you bums even one extra time is too tempting to pass on.

    I'm in...if I can make the draft.

    But I'm NOT commish!!

I'm going back to Michigan for the first time in 4 years on Tuesday and staying about 10 days. Then I will be camping the next weekend. So, I'll be available to draft any time after August 11th. I'm pretty much available any day, but Mondays aren't so good because my kid plays hockey.

Hellooooooo. Anyone stupid enough, er, brave enough to take the job?

Hey, how about giving credit for receptions. So like .5 per catch plus any yards gained?

I agree with Bill. I also like the pr/kr stats.
