I'm starting to think this isn't going to be my year... Last week I played against Turner and Barber who scored 4 TD's and 261 yards between them - this week they combined for ZERO and 92. Now this week Brett Favre, a dinosaur who has played for 20 years goes for a career high 6 TD's!!! WTF is up with that? My team is better than 1-3, I just wanna know when it's going to be my turn to have some luck.
Your turn for luck comes when you get to play Laimbeer's llamas. My team was playing way over it's head. I was 3-0 before falling apart this week. I predicted 5 wins total and I'm sticking with that.
Sorry guys, I didn't realise I had to manually process each trade. The message said the trade will automatically be processed after 2 days. I will process tonight so you can use the players this week. I thought that was just for me, not the commish. Looks like I can't change the option either. So I guess from now on for future trades I will wait 2 days to allow either side to change their mind, then I will process. Do you remember how you did things Jammer?
Nooooooooooo. Never Never Never allow one or both sides to change their mind. The waiting period is for the rest of the league to veto or voice complaints. Once you enter into an agreement it's binding.
I don't remember having to do anything for trades. That might have had something to do with the way it was setup. I don't know. I've only been a commissioner once, so I'm not really sure. I agree with that. I'm also not a big fan of vetoing trades either. Unless it was CLEARLY foul play, even if the trade appears lopsided, if it is done in good faith, I feel that it should always stand.
Right. When you set up the league, you chopose between Commish approval or league approval. I always put it on the league. Like Jammer, I don't ever like vetoes based on stupidity of managers. If it's good faith it stands. Collusion is another matter entirely...
There isn't much to "process" a trade. The Commissioner just clicks a button that says "Approve Trade". As the baseball Commissioner this past summer, I only waited a single day for trades. If no one objected, I just clicked the "Approve Trade" button. I don't see the need to prolong trades if it is obvious there is no corruption going on.
Ah yes, I think I remember selecting that now. As you said, I don't really like the idea of vetoing trades either which must be why I set it to Commish. But I didn't realise that would mean I'd have to APPROVE every one. I mistakingly thought people could cancel a trade once it was accepted, but I was thinking of being able to cancel proposals. Thanks for helping me clear this up. Going forward I will still allow 2 days from when the trade is accepted by both sides to processing it, which will allow any unhappy managers to express any concerns.
Yep, I am aware of the button, I just don't have access to Yahoo at work, sorry Bill. As for the 2 days, I decided to just allow the default time to avoid any potential hassles.
