It's not so bad that they lost, but the way that they lost is what bothers me. The way they respond will say a lot about them.
Reminds me of a couple of those early losses to the Ducks last year that they never recovered from. Three one goal losses to the Ducks last year and 2 in OT Too close for comfort was right. I switched channels at the end of the first period with the wings up 1-0;, to the Raptors/heat game and then to the Cavs/Sixers game and actually for got about the wings game. I turned back to the game hoping it was over and lord and behold we were up 3-2 with only 4 minutes left. 20 seconds later it was tied and 29 seconds after I tune it on we were behind and I had no faith they would tie let alone win it........Have to hope that the perceived Predator momentum is squashed on Wednesday.
I watched the latter part of the 3rd period and even though Wings were leading, it looked like it was just a matter of time before Nashville ties the score. The Wings barely spent any time in the offensive end, and they had problem clearing the puck out of their own zone. Wings were just running around chasing Nashville players. It just didn't look right.
Daily Tribune : Nashville has scoop on Hasek 04/16/08 Babcock said that he might make lineup changes for tonight's game after using the same group in the first three games. "There might be, all based on how guys are feeling," said coach Mike Babcock. So is anyone banged up? "Everyone's pretty good," answered Babcock.
Didn't the Sharks take one from the Flames with 9 seconds left? Just win the series. No cake walks here !!!
Well the in studio commentators said it best in between the second and third periods. The wings don't react to goals whether they score them or when the opposition does. Monday night they allow the predators to score two goals within 9 seconds with the latter being the winning goal and tonight after scoring a goal themselves to put them back in the game, they give up another quick one in 11 or so seconds and that turned out to be the winning goal. The dominator was yanked quickly and I would have done the same thing...although you can't blame the whole thing on him....
I watched most of the 3rd period and Wings looked out of sorts. There was no offensive pressure and way too many turnovers in their own end to let Nashville have great scoring chances. I wonder if the move to Ozzy is permanent. But the team just didn't look good. They need to pick things up if they are to win the series. Wouldn't really want to see it going to game 7.
Wings history last 20 years is to lose a series much sooner than their talent should allow. They're at it again...
Hasek didn't provide the safety net, he let in a few bad goals. If he's solid, most likely Wings either moving on or come home with a 3-1 series lead. Hopefully Ozzy can stabilize the team. Otherwise it won't be pretty.
I am OK with this...Hasek did his job, but he just didn't react like a 43 year goal tender should. No excuse for the back to back goals that close apart, except our defense kinda failed him too. Osgood held them in check for the 3rd period and he should be sharp enough to hold down the fort. The winner of game 5 should win the series..
Wings draw first blood in this important game 5 as Fillpula scores about 4 minutes in. This is good beginning, now need to build on this.
I agree. Overtime playoff games are very stressful. Red Wings out-shot the Predators 53-20 in regulation. Too bad that doesn't help any....
