I guess the Spartans scored to soon on that 2.5 minute TD drive~~~ dang what a heartbreaker for the Spartan nation....to give up the TD with 2 seconds....on a 4th and all the marbles play
Man, no TD's the entire game and then 2 on the last 2 possessions. Pretty tough to defend that many straight passing plays from inside the 10, but they almost did it. Iowa can't be that good if they barely knocked off both Michigan teams.
Yep but they are the best the Big 10 has to offer this season.... with only OSU left on their schedule that poses a problem, Iowa should be able run the table with their defense. Both teams played very good defense tonight, but you have to wonder if the Spartans thought they had the win after the TD and didn't put enough effort into the first couple of plays of Iowa's winning TD drive. I mean they buckled down on the last series, but that clock was just to accurate to have the door open for those last 2 seconds....
come on Spartannation....4th down and 2 seconds left-DID U REALLY THINK U WERE GONNA WIN??????? (HQ STARTIN' MESS......) somewhere Desmond Howard is crackin up "Payback for trippin me!"
The sad thing is that nobody the Spartans played this year would scare them if they played again. This team could have easily won all their games. They're snake bit at the end of games.
My stomach still hurts. The Sparties played a great game. At least they didn't lose this game stupidly like the CMU & Notre Dame games. I'm still pissed the refs called the helmet-to-helmet penalty so late. That guy had his head up for a few yards, saw the defender coming and got clocked by a great hit with minimal helmet contact. They didn't call the penalty until the Iowa guy had been laying on the ground for maybe 5 seconds. That's BS. I think the Big 10 refs have been instructed to give Iowa favorable rulings in hope they get to a BCS bowl. Assuming they don't get up-ended prior, it'll be interesting to see what calls they get against the Buckeyes in Columbus.
It was a terrible call, but MSU lost this one on their own (as they did the other close games). Will 6-6 be good enough for a bowl game? I'm hoping we have the inside track to the pizza bowl. Pretty depressing. I feel like our season pretty much ended yesterday. MSU has nobody to blame but MSU.
Any opinions on that defensive holding (pseudo pass interference pentalty) at the end? I thought it was the correct call when I saw it live, but on the replay it was obvious that the receiver just slipped on his own after a little cotact. I guess the question is whether or not the contact was past 5 yards or not. Didn't seem like it was.
This is a game Sparty needs to win if they want to get a halfway decent/any bowl game. They are three point favorites on the road but I am wondering how many times they can show up after a tough loss. This could be bad. Minnesota 28 Sparty 10 Michigan plays Illinois. Michigan is favored by 7. U of M 35 Illinois 21
indiana on what the 5 going in to make it 28-7 and all but end the game and the wildest pin ball int for a pick 6 i have ever seen..... early in the 4th and now its 28-24 iowa..... maybe there luck holds out for another week. even though there qb has 5 picks /shakes head
yep once that ping pong INT occurred, I could see the momemtaum switching back to Iowa. Plus looks like the replay officials were doing all they could to keep at least one Big 10 team in the BCS rankings....
yea the first two were legit but after that i wonder who's glasses the guy was wearing.... i'd be really upset if i was an indiana fan
Another sick loss. We were robbed at the end but there were a lot of bad things the Spartans let happen to put them in position to lose. Season over.
Does any team in Michigan play defense anymore...Spartans give up 42, Wolverines 38, EMU about 63....Pistons gave 36 3rd qtr points....these teams gave out a lot of treats today... Wonder if the RedWings can hold on to their one goal lead?
