Glad they won but my stomach started hurting during the 4th qtr. Thankfully Caper gutted out that last run. The D played pretty well for most of the game but Treadwell's overly conservative play calling left them on the field too long in the end. The officiating wasn't the greatest...the late hit was the worst call I've seen all season. Almost seemed like they threw the flag before they blew the whistle.
First time the Spartans have beaten UM back-to-back since the 1960s. When you factor in men's hoops, MSU is the "big brother" now.
Bad call, but if we lost it wasn't due to that. Sparty clearly does not know how to win, IMO. Maybe we just aren't too good. This team literally makes me ill, too. I think Wisconsin and Iowa are looking pretty good. Illinois may beat us next week, but I will try to enjoy this for a minute...once my headache goes away.
Good Game Little Brother. State got pressure with the front 4 and that caused major problems for Michigan all day long. See y'all on the ice and hoop court!
A road game but a game you need to win to be taken seriously. Sparty a 4 point favorite. My gut is that Sparty shows up. MSU 28 Illinois 14
U-M thread 154 posts..........MSU thread 105 and none after the game today... I'd be ashamed if I gave a damn!
the kids played bad and STILL almost won on the road! Admit it...even in defeat, they were more impressive than MSU in victory at a horrible Illini team.
Central >Mich St.>UM > Illinois >Delaware St. State has nothing to brag about. We beat three crappy teams so far. (Montana, Michigan, and Illinois). At least we aren't pretending or delusional enough to believe we are any good.
You have history on your side to back your claim of being no good. Winningest NCAA Football Teams as of 2007 From NCAA.org: Michigan Wolverines- 860 Notre Dame Fighting Irish-821 Texas Longhorns-810 Nebraska Cornhuskers-803 Ohio State Buckeyes- 786 Michigan is 860-238-34 / With 43 Big Ten championships Michigan State is 478-332-30 / With 9 Big Ten championships. Actually...considering your futility recently (last 25 years), your program must have had some glory years in the distant past, based on your w/L and Big Ten Championships. But then..so have the LIONS Wow...you guys have lost 100 more games than us, while playing 300 less.
Where is the rule that states you have to be an alumnus to be a fan? By the logic you are insinuating fans should only root for teams they are either 1) Alumni of 2) Professional teams in the city/state they were born in. Weak.
Oh, we are talking cave man stuff again? My bad. I thought we were talking about THIS year!!!!!! I think the polls should reflect Michigan's past REGULAR season accomplishments so we can watch them play in the BCS title game this year.
