That fake punt was one of the worst calls imaginable. The odds of getting a first down on 4th and inches with a QB sneak (especially Forcier) has to be 85%+. A fake probably has 25% odds.

I would have been OK with going for it. Was OK with punting it. But somehow they found a third and worse option.

It was funny seeing RichRod look around like he is used to yelling at people in those situations... but he was obviously on board with it. :gun1:

In the post game interview Rod said the kicker was suppose to have punted the ball. He did say the punter has the right to change the play if he thinks he see's something to exploit, and that the punter has done it in the past.

We came up short, dang-it!! But I just have to remember that our goal this year was to go from a joke to respectability, and we seem to be doing that.

After watching the Gawd Awful John Navarre, the sometimesy Chad Henne over the last 8/9 years, watching Tate Forcier is a real treat, we came up short, but 2 straight (Could've been 3 had Stonum not fumbled) TD scoring drives, with the last one havaing to 92 yards with no Time-Outs....The diaper dandy is SPECIAL with a capital "S" Baby!!!!

I fully expect him to be a Heisman Candidate before he graduates, and when was the last time a Michigan QB was Heisman Hopeful?

Yeah, looking respectable now. Could've been three straight losses too, so count your blessings. You are lucky State almost took the gas pipe or U of M would have been blown out.

The only teams MSU is blowing out are out-of-conference Big Sky teams like Montana State. I wouldn't go bragging about the Spartans just yet. If these two teams play each other 10 times, it's probably a wash.

The only team with three straight losses in this conversation is MSU (Central, Notre Lame, Wisconsin).

Exactly right...and we still kicked your buttocks all over East Lansing.:pound::pound::pound:

I never ever ever ever said MSU was any good. Just that they totally dominated U of M yesterday.

Well, no worries. Delaware State is still on the schedule for the Blue. Plus you don't have any more road games, right? :stirthepot:

Goodbye top 25 ranking!!!! You just got your butt beat by doormats.

THIS is what a good loss is....Id rather lose with a freshman QB going 92 yds downfield in the rain and tie the game than Win like MSU after leading 20-6 . MSU showed its usual 'luck' in winning a game while M showed why it WILL play ina BCS bowl next year.

Yeah, great loss. I'm super jealous. Especially that gutsy call by your punter. Pure greatness. Keep up the good work. I hope you experience many more "good losses" this year.

BCS bowl for U of M next year? Wow. The Little Caesar's Bowl has certainly gained status.

It was the diff. Take away that 3 points and...

Anyhow, the Wolverines only got three on the opening drive interception...and only got THAT because of a lucky bounce off the post!

Does total domination = not being able to put UM away on MSU's home field?

If so, then you're right, MSU totally dominated them.

Look at the stats up until the last ten minutes. Michigan got nothing. Their QB is a stud to be, but anything they got was due to Sparty taking the gas pipe.

Let's face it, This year you guys took a step forward, we took one back, but neither team is very good. At least you've got a good record (but you haven't played a single good team yet...yes, that includes the Green guys).

we don't have to be very good this year, we just don't have to suck as bad as we did last season and get bowl eligible. Gotta remember last season we only had a very small percentage of offensive plays that netted positive yards.

RichRod has already exceeded last years victory total and only needs two more wins to become bowl eligible.

With that being said, I see at least 2-3 more winnable games vs Delaware State, Purdue and the Illini

So a 7-5 regular season and a trip to the Mediocre Bowl game might satisfy some boosters and alumni...:sssh:
