I beat Darth 5-0 in pitching and he beat me 5-0 in hitting. I guess Yogi's quote is true... "Good pitching beats good hitting every time, and vice versa."
Great match Bill. My last pitcher missed beating you by a single strike, and your last batter missed beating me by one long swing of the bat. I'll get you next time.
If I would have went with Dan Uggla (4 HR) instead of Rickie Weeks (on the DL) as my 2B, I would have had you! Good match. It looks like I [STRIKE]get this week off [/STRIKE]play Jammer this week.
Congratulations to round on what amounts to your "perfect game" this week from a fantasy perspective. 10-0 over your opponent. That's not easy to do (unless you play someone easy like Bill Laimbeer). That vaulted you from mediocrity into third place. Niiiice.
now you did it, i am so trying to fly under the radar get this all figured out making small tweeks without doing the drastic changes and you go and point it out to the world.... and now against the 1st place team, i soooo smell a 0-10 week... lol
I'm just letting you guys know that the only reason a rookie manager like Porceus Chopus (He thinks that is the scientific name for "pork chops") is in first place is because I gave him excellen preseason advice that was meant to get him through the first third of the season. I'm not helping him any more so he will rapidly fade into the sunset. My team report. I'm a top 3 hitting team at the moment. My pitching is barely average. However, I think they will get it together. I'm still trying to recover from that first week. I'm apparently joined at the hip with Bill's kid the last couple of weeks. Stuck at .500. Well, two weeks ago Bill lost his guy to the DL on a Monday when playing me and it cost him. So i play his kid this week and karma bites me when I find out on Monday that my star shortstop is out. Cost me two categories. Just goes to show that it usually all evens out in the end. Speaking of which I think I have a full lineup today while my opponent gets to use one guy total. Seems like Monday worked against me all year so maybe a little bit of good luck is around the corner. I dropped Chris Davis last week. I drafted him pretty high. He had 12 homers but that average was killing me. (I think he's around .190). So I was thinking maybe I would regret it. Bill's kid used a very low waiver choice to grab him which I had actually anticipated would happen. So what happens? Know All drops Jay Bruce that very day. Bruce has a better average by 40 points and 14 homers. That's a lot of dingers. Welcome to the Phillies Jay Bruce. Had to use a #2 waiver on him though. That may bite me or maybe not. The league is VERY competitive this year. No easy wins. Where are Gazoo and Woody when you need them? J/K. I wish you guys had joined this year...wherever you are.
Yea, I was going to pick up Jay Bruce this morning if he slipped through. I didn't want to waste my waiver spot on him, though, because I'm sure an even bigger name will be dropped sooner or later.
That will change shortly. Bill, you have never been one to accept "constructive criticism" about your team. Geez, try to help some people...
At least you have a chance to win this week. You play Jammer. My two favorite Canuckians playing fantasy baseball...or are you?
