State your intentions for bringing the smack down in this years Football league!

The commish position is up for grabs for anyone who is interested. There isn't a lot of maintenance and as past commishes, I'm sure Jammer and myself will be more than happy to help out. If nobody wants to claim it I can do it, but it would nice if someone jumped in.

It's time to start thinking about catching up on the off-season news and getting your cheat sheets together. The draft will be in mid-late August.

    So, who is interested?

I'd participate, not sure about commish though. I've never done it and with the 2nd baby coming up not sure about time availability. I don't mind doing it if it is manageable. :)

I'm in if there is an open spot. What site have you used in the past?

I'm in. Anyone know of any leagues with a monetary motivation?

I'm in (but not as commish).

If it will make you feel better, you can give me your money when I win.

Aha, I see people are finally discovering this thread. I thought it might have gotten lost under all the NBA free agency excitement...

We use Yahoo and no money is involved. Last year we only had 10 teams. I see we have some new players so if we get to 12 that's great.

Commish isn't that big of a deal for me. I just copy the settings from last years league and there is no maintenance. If at a later stage someone wants to see how it's done and have a go I can always grant co-commish status.

After we get some more replies I'll create the league and you can start joining and getting your rankings together. There are still 6 weeks left.

Probably a good idea to check out some of the NFL fantasy sites and catch up on what's happened over the off-season.
ie. If you draft Plaxico Burress you should be shot.

I'm also looking at the option of an Auction draft. Yahoo cannot do auction drafts but we could run one in ESPN then I can manually create the rosters in Yahoo.

The NBA auction draft last year was pretty killer and definitely added some excitement and strategy to the draft.

If I had my druthers, all I would do is auction draft every day. Auction draft and order pizza.

    Has tater signed up yet?

I am really going to try to avoid fantasy football and basketball this year and just stick with hockey and baseball. That being said, it's easier said than done for me. :yellowprison:

It would be cool if you played, but I know you've said you weren't keen to play which is why I won't bug you about it. But there's always a spot for you any time if you change your mind. :)

Roscoe needs to play though. With all these new players his chances of success just went up 5%. Although I'm not sure if you follow NFL do you?

I have won every fantasy football league (back in pen and paper days) I have ever played in.

I will not put my perfect record on the line, and like Darth, have to limit my fantasy exposure. My extra-curriculars are going to land me in the poorhouse, I don't have a wealthy and beautiful life partner like Tater to underwrite my dalliances with the world of fantasy sport.

    What? statwacker is free??? Ridiculous!

It's the only advantage I have in hockey. Everyone uses it but me, and I win!!

This will level the playing field. I'll lose my advantage.

Now, if Tater, Jammer, and Roscoe will only commit to playing this year, my chances will go up expotentially.

    Sid Abels rules!!!

See you all in the finals!!!
