How does UoM rate a 1-1-2011 date ?
    They should be playing a 12-24-26 -2010 date with a 6-6 team.
As usual they're in wayyyyyy over DRobs head

Name recognition..tradition..alumni all over the country...even a shout out here in the Spartan thread:)

The issue is those who follow both schools and didn't attend either will have to set up their PIP or DVR since both games are being broadcasted at the same time..1 PM and 1:30PM

But don't worry...if they were getting the full respect, they would be on ABC, NBC or CBS on 1/1/11, instead of ESPN2

BCS bowl or not, a win over Bama would be huge for the football program.

That said, I'm not putting my money on a victory. But as a Spartan, I'll give em a cheer.

That was the worst beating I can recall MSU football ever suffering. Ridiculously out-classed, completely dominated on both lines, totally blownout, and incurring multiple injuries :crutch:. What I saw was the difference between having a roster of 5-star recruits and a roster of 3-4 star recruits. Even slick-Nick Saban looked a little remorseful that his 3rd & 4th stringers were clobbering us.

Did you pick the Lions or the Vikings today?

Makes ya wonder how Alabana didn't make it to the Championship game.

Made all my rest of the season picks on December 16th as I wasn't sure when I'd see a computer again. I was out of town and for some time, out of the country. Just finished up and got back home today at 3pm...after the games were over. I picked the Lions to lose before they decided to play well.

Best #16 team I've ever seen. IMO MSU would have fared better against any of the other bowl teams, including Oregon & Auburn.

We'll see. With Treadwell taking the Miami of Ohio HC job it'll partially depend on who our next offensive coordinator is.

One thing is for sure...both lines need improvement.

Do you have an excuse like this for all of your missed picks? :pound::pound::pound:

I had a number of teams this season which were not kind to me. I only picked my beloved Raiders correctly about 4 times this season among others.

    Welcome back nemo!

    Yeah, what detteam said.

Odd how they did so well when Treadwell coached and Dantonio was out, but as soon as Dantonio returned we got blown out by Iowa and barely squeaked past the crappier teams. Hmmmmm...0-4 in bowl games for Dantonio. Is it the players or the coaching???

Darth...good to see ya again. I am proud to have been a Spartan fan this season. I look forward to more success in the coming years. You'll love your team next season, and your bowl game results [STRIKE]should[/STRIKE] HAVE to be better. :)

Rivals.com College Football - Rivals.com's Early, Early Preseason Top 25

Interesting to see a projection for next year's top 25 football teams.

I fully expect MSU to gain a BCS game for next season.

They may be ranked below OSU next year, but when the two teams play...
OSU will be missing some suspended players.

MSU should be ranked above the rest in the conference.

History tells us that MSU should slide back to about 8-4, but
I think things will be different this time around.

I just hope Michigan finishes in the top 25 for next year.

Interesting to note. Auburn started the past year ranked 39th...

Nice to see that this year MSU will be losing a BCS bowl rather than just some run of the mill ordinary bowl.

I call Bullshizzle on OSU. The "suspended" players were allowed to play in the big bowl game this season but then they serve the suspension (assuming they don't declare for the pros) for 5 games next year at the beginning of the year when OSU plays all of their non conference schedule. The only non scrub team they face is MSU (MSU is arguably a non scrub team) and that was only to make it look good. The rule may indeed be stupid but it IS a rule and everyone should have to follow them INCLUDING a brand name Big Ten School.

Poor Terrelle Pryor and Ohio State -- NCAAFB FanHouse

The guy who isn't ready for the NFL now may have to go the NFL. Either that or he sits out the first five games of the 2011 season courtesy of an NCAA suspension for benefiting from selling items he earned while benefiting The Ohio State University.

Rest assured, though, it's not Pryor's fault. Not his fault whatsoever. He didn't know he couldn't sell his paraphernalia, ranging from a Big Ten championship ring to a trinket of gold pants given by the University for beating Michigan. He sold them, you see, for the most noble of causes: to help his family.

That's the word from Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith, who also lavished gushing praise on Ohio State's compliance department as it saw its marquee player given the NCAA hammer. It was only on "this particular bylaw" -- which in NCAA vernacular probably is Bylaw 9, Paragraph 12, Subset 4, Provision 5.2 -- that the university did not give enough information. For all the other 783,209 bylaws, Ohio State was spot on.

Five Ohio State Buckeyes, including Terrelle Pryor, must sit out five games in '11 - ESPN

I call BS on the kids not knowing the rules.... or the whole staff at the little school in ohio should be fired, I ran track/cross country and my track coach in Middle school took a few of us to races in the summer and he even let us know what we could take from races as prizes and such, and what we could do with the stuff we got.

Reminds me of the stories of students who graduate from high school without being able to read. Seems impossible but it still happens. Shame on the teachers who would let such a thing happen, and shame on the Administrators who would let these athletes be uninformed. Or worse, cover up their mistakes.

Michigan WAS shamed when they lost to Applachian State in 2007. :crying:

Now...Michigan State must be embarrassed as Applachian State produced 3 draft choices ...while Michigan State only produces two...:pound:
