This news was announced on Fox NFL pregame show. They said he had a stint put in to alleviate a blocked artery...I wish him and his family well.

Agree. Very gutsy call. Hope the coach is OK.

News outlets saying it was a relatively common procedure. All the best to Bowling Balls Dantonio. :)

Poor MSU. A fantastic win and now there is kind of a clock controversy and also their coach has a heart attack.

    Can't win for [STRIKE]losing [/STRIKE] errr...winning. :yellowprison:

I haven't heard anything about a clock controversy. I just noticed it last night when I was watching that Youtube video.

This kind of thing happens all the time. I've seen it from both sides. Doesn't really matter now anyways. It was a good game and MSU won with courage.

Sure enough Regis Philbin was upset about the Irish loss and commented on the coaches minor heart attack on this mornings show.

In fact he and Kelly Ripa joked that if the Spartans had lost the game than Dantonio condition may have been worse than what it was?

@ Dre, Oh, funny. haha. butt-holes.

@ Bill, yeah, my friend commented on it right after the play. I read in the paper, in Brighton, The Press Argus, about the clock thing, and i read something online. One of them mentioned that the Big East (don't ask me why) looked at it and said it was "lag time". That one official ids responsible to look at hte clock and when it runs out to look at the field" That there is lag time and it is acceptable and common (as nemo said). I probably used the word "controversy" to broadly. Quit being such a royal pain in the buttocks, Billiam Lamebeerguzzler. "We are(n't) living by exact words, Greg (Brady)). ;) I'll bet Dre remembers that one. ;)

    And there you have it.

Definitive Proof That Time Expired Before MSU's Miracle, And Why It Doesn't Matter

The gist: ESPN's clock was 1/4 seconds fast, the snap was 1/5 seconds later than the game clock, but the referee is supposed to watch the game clock until it hits zero, then look to see if the ball has been snapped yet. The time it takes the ref for his brain to register the time running out, and then look at the field is more than 1/5 seconds. So that's just the way it goes.

While I don't really care who won the game, as both teams are on Michigans schedule it doesn't really effect there rating.

Saying that, why can't the person watching the clock be able to see both the ball and the time at once? Hell I say I am half blind and I can do it. If its too hard for the ref, have it buzz in an ear piece while they watch for the snap..... problem solved.

Seems like only the diehard Irish followers would bring this up....although Regis never mentioned it on his show this morning..:sssh:
