Spartans are able to contain Mr. Robinson in his own neighborhood.

three picks including two in the end zone the real difference despite the nations worst defense giving up the over 500 yards.

Give credit to the Spartans who were definitely bigger as their backs were able to carry the Wolves defenders for additional yards as well as burst through the line for big TD runs. Cousins definitely out played Robinson as he found the open man while DRobs guys were dropping passes when the ball was not finding it self in the other teams hand.

With Alabama's loss, have to assume that OSU moves to #1 , and can stay there all season unless they get tripped up at Wisconsin next week. SO if Sparty gets past the Hawkeyes in a couple of weeks, you could have two undefeated teams in the Big 10 who won't play each other???...unless the Spartans move up to # 2 by seasons end:sssh:

I am proud to be a fan of the Spartans. They won the game today thru will and error free football. I have ordered my shirt now that you've won three years in a row...

With that said...I suggest strongly that the Spartans take the Illini seriously next week, as they demolished Penn state today. No time for a letdown...

No doubt next week will be a test but this Sparrtan team is for real. They didn't even have to tackle a receiver in the end zone or have time clock help today.

Hart ain't doing U of M any favors. Keep talking Mike. Keep talking.

"Former Wolverine Mike Hart, who after a Michigan victory in 2007 referred to the Spartans as “Little Brother,” again fanned emotions with a message he sent to the team this week. The note was posted near the locker room.
“Nothing needs to be said to get you guys fired up,” it read. “After what you guys have dealt with the last two years and the disrespect throughout the country. You get four chances in your life to play this team. What does each and every player want their legacy to be, because it starts tomorrow. Tomorrow we put little brother in his place.”
MSU coaches and players chose to avoid the rhetoric and do their talking with their play. All-American senior linebacker Greg Jones still remembers the ’07 loss as if it were yesterday.
“Nobody wants to lose,” Jones said. “Especially in that type of game. But we’ve stayed classy since and got the job done.”
    Little Brother has matured.
And once again knocked Big Brother on his behind."

Yeah, like he could keep his mouth shut.
I'm sure the UoM had a clue about what they where going up against - size and weight and speed of their rival.

    Thanks Mike

MSU's schedule looks relatively easy through the rest of the season. No OSU. Only have to get by Iowa on the road to have a spectacular season. 2 losses at most, with a chance at 1 or 0. I'm jealous.

We'll be looking closely at that Iowa game. You'll be playing there, so it'll be tough. I may have to change my prediction if you enter the game without a loss. Spartans are still swimming upstream...

I don't want this kind of negativity Darth. Your powerhouse of a football team will crush the Likes of Illinois. They will place their proverbial foot on the opponents throat and apply pressure til they crumble. Your coach is just doing his job. As a powerhouse, your team has many good players who will step up and replacements who can do the job.

***I read though that the replacement corner is from DRY BRANCH, Georgia.
    - best I can tell...It also goes by the name of Twiggs..

Kinda small...the town has no official link, but here it is on the map.

My guess is about 100 residents....:)

Sparty now has Bragging rights. Let us not see those turn into Gagging rights.

Illinois has a very good defense and the Spartans will have to play well to win.

Do I smell a BCS game, or is that Darth eating A Philly steak and cheese. :)

Yeah, Illinois is pretty good. This won't be easy.

I saw an article where one of our offensive linemen was talking crap. He was telling about how they get their opponents off their game by talking about stuff like their sisters. Giving all the MSU strategies on their secret verbal warfare to win mind games.

What an IDIOT. Plus our best cornerback got suspended for that DUI. As I said before, we are our own worst enemy.

I think we should win this game but would not be in the least bit surprised to see MSU lose. Nor would I be shocked to see U of M get back on track against Iowa.

If your program is stepping up in talent it is going to step up in nuts. Ask any big time program.

Well, I sure hope so. I'm still not certain we are for real. If we are then yeah, we need to show we belong.

They'll make the big time when you switch your allegiance to Central Michigan because MSU keeps letting you down. :)
