MSU stands at the threshold of greatness. The football program has had 6-0 starts recently, but you have to go back to that magical 1966 season to recall the last 7-0 start. That was the last time the mighty Spartans were players on the national stage.

Billed as the Game of the Century between #1 Notre Dame and #2 Michigan State. I remember the big controversy was that Notre Dame chose to run out the clock instead of trying to score more. The game finished in a 6-6 tie.

Remember...We're talkin sacred ground for your program now.

    I thought it was a 10-10 tie.
That was the last time MS beat UM 3 straight.

Illinois MAY burst our bubble. Scary game.

    12-0?? :pound::pound::pound::pound: Sparty 12-0 :pound::pound::pound::pound::pound:

11-1 Great season. Possible but unlikely.

10-2 seems very realistic at this point.

    9-3 at the worst?

    8-4 total collapse.

    Defense comes up big...again...

    Is something special really happening???

Cousins is a 2nd half quarterback, no doubt.

Illinois coach Ron Zook just said MSU is the best team, in his opinion, they played so far. That includes Mizzou & Ohio State! Wow!

This is an honest question because I don't know the answer. I could have wiki'd it but I figured it would be more fun to ask.

Has MSU ever won a national football championship?

If not, I guess it would be a pretty big deal if they did.

The Michigan State Spartans football program competes in NCAA Division I-A and the Big Ten Conference. Michigan State has won or shared a total of 6 national championships (1951, 1952, 1955, 1957, 1965, and 1966), two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships (1903 and 1905), and 6 Big Ten championships (1953, 1965, 1966, 1978, 1987, and 1990). Currently 24 former Spartans are playing in the NFL.[3]

But it was a long time ago, and irregardless, it would still be a HUGE deal. :)

Hey Darth, maybe it's time for you to wipe the cheese sauce off your shirt, pack the McNabb bobblehead away, and climb on board the MSU bandwagon. There's room.

I'm just here to enjoy the 2010 Spartans...And for Darth to admire my prognostication skills.

7-0 and OSU is losing to Wisconsin 21-3 at the half.

First place in the Big Ten...All alone at the top. Better buy some Pepto, Darth...:pound:

My wife reads your trivia comments and thinks you are a nice guy. I tell her otherwise. She is a lousy judge of character. (After all, she married me).

I admit, so far your predictions are incredibly accurate. :):):)

I got a prediction....13:11 left in the game Wisconson leads 21-10 with OSU in the red zone. If OSU scores a TD here, they will probably come back and win the game..:yellowprison:

Huge loss for OSU, which is great for you guys.

Can't believe MSU has a shot to win it all.

Michigan proved today that Iowa's D isn't that terrifying, so I think you guys can get by them.
