Glenn Mason, a former Big Ten coach had these things to say about UM football...

"I'm just saying that I looked for them to improve, defensively, all year long and they never did. And, to be quite honest, it wasn't just a lack of talent -- I don't buy that.

"They didn't seem to get lined up," Mason continued. "Their fundamentals were not sound. And they didn't tackle well.

"I was critical of them all year long, and that's really not my style. But I do think anyone who goes in there is capable of playing a lot better defense than they've been playing."

Mason, by the way, shared another thought. And not many who winced their way through the past season would quarrel.

"I can't, for the life of me, figure out why Michigan has such a bad kicking game," he said. "You're telling me Michigan can't field a better kicking game than that?

    "Give me a break."

I e-mailed them to let them know that this data was imperative to UM fans.

I told the founder that you would send him a check. :)

IMHO Hoke will bring his OC to convince the QB to return. He has experience with many different offensive formations. Hoke should return the defense to its past status. I'm hopeful for this hire, and will remain positive for 3 years under even difficult curmcumstances.

One thing Brandon said is that UM needed a coach that was willing to adjust to the personnel that he has. All good leaders, whether it is in sports or some other field, should be able to do this. This is one reason, among others, why Rodriguez sucked.

I'm looking forward to a stronger defense. It couldn't be any worse. They only time they stopped anyone was when they beat Illinois and the QB was sacked in OT. Still, they gave up tons of points in that game.

The biggest mistake that Rich Rod made was to ignore this man.

After Lloyd Carr, he was ignored...big mistake.

This is the man behind Michigan's success.

Most of you don't even know him.

    He's the LaDre of Michigan...:)

That Auburn defense was a thing of beauty. That's what I want to see when I watch Michigan Football.

Read the Tate Forcier is off the team too. I guess he can either concentrate on the books now or find another school where it's easier to get a C average....

The problem with the Michigan BB coach, his strategy is to ball control and they don't have a post up game. He relies to much on Novak and Douglass to shoot the three and they seem afraid to penetrate. The the new guys, Hardaway Jr. and Morris can penetrate, but the little guys pass the ball around the horn to much and get beat on defense on the other end. It has been like this Beiline got there and I am frustrated with his game plan more than I was with RichRod's :stirthepot:

Rivals ranked our draft class at #33 just before Rich Rod was canned.

Since then we lost two of his committments and hired Brady Hoke.

    Now we're ranked #21

Not bad for just a few weeks worth of work.
