It would take a trade, but you never know. If Joe D pulls a blockbuster and then everything clicks, it could happen.

I based my guess upon Lee taking over for the Clueless Coach and running the table with a 12 man rotation.

There was not a check box for 70+ so I had to pick the next closest one.

On paper, this team wins 72 games this season. In reality, I expect maybe high 20's, low 30's. I suffered through a couple of the Sonics brutal seasons when I moved out here, and the similarities are striking to the current Pistons.

Rodney Stuckey vs. Will Bynum is the same incomplete pointguard drama seen in Luke Ridnour vs. Earl Watson.

I think the team can't possibly suffer the same injuries as last season, so that should help. But, the East is pretty strong right now, and that hurts.

Four victories over Cleveland, and 3 over Indiana.

I think we win betwen 29 and 33. We have one year experienced coach, improved rookies,i hope less injuries(jonas...),in this side we must do a forward step.
In other side,we lack our better defensive player with Ben wallace for 5-6 months,we are a small team, regular seasson games against bucks or hawks will be diferent.
When Ilicht take control,Dumars (or other GM,i hope will be JD), detroit will make one o two trades thinking in future,we surely lost hamilton,Prince(stuckey if he don´t sign extension?mcgrady?), as result of this trades we surely did´t have a great big,it could be easy we have future first rounds and expire contract players.
As result, second half seasson,we could play our young core but we acumulate a lot of losses.
Despite that, our team will have deep all seasson,it would be funny to see, with more players having minutes, more intensity we will have all games,i hope that´s new way of our second year coach, more energy,no sacred crows and polivalent players.

    Summation of justification:
    • Coach one year older
    • Younger players one year older
    • Old trying to stay younger and perhaps healthy
    • Monroe will not add to the minus column
    • Pertinent contracts should be an added plus
    • No change in leadership for this club
    • JJ out
    Final total:
    • Add 5-7 extra win from last years record which places the team in the 34 win area.
    • No change means a slight improvement which means another max of 3-5 extra wins.
    • I don't see this club climbing above 40 wins.

OMG, we signed Tracy McGrady to a tiny contract. OMG, we signed Tracy McGrady to a tiny contract.

We signed a superstar who had microfracture surgery a couple years ago to a tiny contract.

What on earth could anybody be thinking when they sign an injured superstar who might well be recuperating from a serious injury and who, if it turns out, will be a frikkin big star, to a tiny contract???

    The horror.

Articles like that are just stupid as heck.

I don't think that the issue is that Joe signed Tracy McGrady.
The issue is that all Joe did this summer was sign Tracy McGrady.

You're right though. You can't fault Joe for signing T-Mac. I harbor a severe dislike for T-Mac but he might prove to be a valuable asset to include in a future trade if he can get ever get on the floor.

I think that article is very accurate. Not so much about T-Mac, but about Joe's denial. Joe refuses to turn the page on yester year. The way I see it is as such, we're not winning anything for a few years, the future is Daye, Gordon, Monroe and JJ (who's hurt). Get Rip and Tay out of here so the future can play, develop and form a chemistry over the next 2 years. Rip and Tay aren't going to lead us ANYWHERE!
