Maybe Joe just isn't able to move these two. I'm still pulling for Tom Gores. He's the kind of guy who could package those two players together with a real estate development in Florida, minority ownership in a Turkish hockey team, a pile of CDS, finance the whole deal with an interest only loan, and ship these guys out of town before anyone got wise. His 5 button polo shirts show me he operates on a different level than the rest of us, and the thoughtful tilt of his head indicates ernest reflection and trustworthiness.
I can't believe that I didn't notice this before. The head tilt makes a powerful statement. I hope that Tom can pull off some kind of end-around at the 11th hour to steal our Pistons.
He probably pays an assistant a six-figure salary to measure his head angle prior to posing for any photograph.
You can't fake an angle like that no matter how many millions you spend. You either got it or you don't.
I will suggest strongly that the 3 people who predicted 55 or more victories this season look into this offer from the Pistons. Milwaukee has done this in the past. What they're trying to do is create a noisy section of fans who can cheer ravenously for the whole game. Hey...It's a season of free tickets.... The Pistons will hold tryouts at 6 p.m. Wednesday to select those 50 leather-lunged fans, who will receive free tickets to all 41 home regular-season games but must commit to attending them all - and to making sure the other team knows they're in the building for every second of all 48 minutes. "I tell you this - I wish it could be 5,000," Kuester said. "It's good just to make people understand how important they are. Our fans are huge. I was here in '04 and I remember what they were like then, and in a number of our games last year, they really were a sixth man for us." "That's something that can get us going when we're a little down or whatever," Gordon said. "And when we're playing well, if they're crazy, they'll get us hyped. Hopefully, for the opposing team, it will distract them a little bit and cause them some problems."
Yeah, I see it the same way you do. The article is spot on. The Pistons really should be all out rebuilding right now, but for whatever reason, Dumars is still convinced that this team can still win. Injuries just gave him a convenient excuse for our travesty of a season last year. Anyone with eyes can see that this is a very flawed roster, one that needs a major overhaul. By the time Dumars finally realizes this, he may not be employed by the Pistons anymore.
Thus they are not future of rebuilding teams, I thought then and still have believed that early injuries of last season had killed Joe's scheme and eliminated any opportunity of deadline trade for Rip or Tay or both. Though a bit surreal but these things are not unusual in the world of business, I reckon that Pistons have been asked and gave the league and concerned parties favors to sheltered AI then and TMac now for this two players need somewhere to stay to sell merchandise, hey how could you sell a TMac jersey without team's name on it ?.
I was waiting to see if someone else would shoot for .500, I was started to wonder if I was crazy. If we indeed see the coming of the Daye-walker as fortold in the scriptures, if Monroe can just be solid off the bench, and if bynumite and stuckey can do some good work between the two of them this season, we can surprise anyone. If the trade that will save Joe D's job does indeed deliver a big man, we could potentially beat anyone, definitely in the east coast.
Unfortunately this team needs soooo much experience in all phases of the game. I could see them .333 before the allstar game and .600 after.
We have arguably the weakest front court in the Eastern Conference. Our guards are middle of the pack. Although we have some decent players, we are a below average team collectively. Hitting .500 this season would be a miracle.
How many Piston wins until December? Here's the regular season schedule for October-November: 10/27: @New Jersey 10/29: Oklahoma City 10/30: @Chicago 11/02: Boston 11/03: @Atlanta 11/05: Charlotte 11/07: Golden State 11/09: @Portland 11/12: @Clippers 11/14: @Sacramento 11/15: @Golden State 11/17: Lakers 11/21: Washington 11/23: @Dallas 11/24: @Memphis 11/26: Milwaukee 11/28: New York 11/30: @Orlando I'm looking at the back-to-backs and road trips and the opponents, and it's not looking good. I think we're looking at a 6-12 record come December.
Re: How many Piston wins until December? Unless the other teams are still experimenting, I can see us opening 0-5....unless T-Mac is our secret weapon..
