Turner would be a great fit playing the point foward from the 3, gordon at the 1 and Rip at the 2. I can't see rip or gordon being traded with their contracts.
Gordon can't play the one. Even with another ball handler on the floor (Turner) there's still too many ball handling responsibilities for him to handle at that position.
Don't think Joe's wheels aren't turing on this one. This could be the surprise pick of the draft lottery. Reflections on the next talent pool - The Boston Globe
Well 2Tough, you gets NO ARGUMENT from me on that one. Gordon's ball handling is even good enough to be called suspect. You my friend are absolutely hilarious!
For Detroit I'll pick Wall.. but for a team who already had a decent Point Guard Turner is the best option
what if new orleans got the no 1? they allready have collison and if they took wall thatd give them 3 quality points.
Does New Orleans have someone elses draft pick this year or what, because there are at least 7 or 8 teams in front of New Orleans, and the Pistons werent even mentioned in that article as a possibility. I would have to suspect that if New Orleans did get the #1, they would take Turner. I might take some flack for that. They do not have a 3, at all. Peja has played the 3 for them all season, but it would be nice to have some youth fill that position and Peja off the bench in a limited role. Turner would add a great dynamic with Paul and Collison, and Marcus Thornton...and David West. Would be a great team. Wont happen.
Most GMs spend sleepless nights trying to figure out how they are going to find the next Zoran Planicic.
I strongly agree unless you get an unexpected player that would developed spot on. then its gonna be all luck..
Still don't see the hype on Favors, if he struggled that hard adjusting to the college game, how and the world is he going to adjust to the NBA?
I really hope that the ping pong balls fall our way so we can get into one of those top slots. I just went and checked out a few mock-drafts at different sites and they're all over the map as to which players will be drafted in which position after the top 3 or 4. I'd prefer that Joe picks in one of those top slots so it becomes a no-brainer for him. It would be nice for the Pistons to draft a "franchise" player instead of a dude that could "possibly" be a starter.
He finished the season pretty strong. In fact, Georgia Tech was a better team when Gani Lawal started deferring to Favors more later in the season. Most scouts comment on how poor a job GT's PGs are at getting him the ball. Of course he would have that problem here too. If we the 4th pick and a player like Cousins is still on the board, we have to take him. He has red flags around him, but we could definitely use that kind of talent. Better to strike out on a great talent than just take a fringe starter player. We do a good job overpaying those players in free agency anyway.
