oops. Sorry guys! Don't mean to be sounding overly self intelligent there. I just study NFL a tremendously amount more than NBA. You guys got it all over me on hoops by far. I really like relying on you guys for informed opinions on BBall, especially Pistons. Just wanna contribute back here.
Zark, just because there's a collection of numb-skulls and nut-nuts here doesn't mean you need to dumb down your post.
The rest of us appreciate the info and insight. Bill Laimbeer is a bit slow and has a bad case of low self esteem so he gets a little testy when people are more intelligent than he is (i.e. all the time). We've talked about having him banned based on his lack of meaningful contributions to the forum but Rascoe is softhearted and has taken a liking to him.
Ladies and gentleman, YOUR 2011 Detroit Lions!!!!! Lions’ blunder prompted draft-visit disclosures | ProFootballTalk
OMFG! April Fools. They got us. I believed that. LMFAOOOOOOOO. Like any profesional sports team would be that stupid. Oh...good one. You guys kill me. C. J. you are so clever. And you folks give me a hard time for becoming a Philadelphia Eagles fan. HELLO People!!! Applications to Philadelphia Eagles fan club now being accepted. No exclusions unless your name happens to rhyme with Pammer. or Goody, or Jill Waimdeer. Rascoe's are accepted. But no Roscoe's. If you look and smell and have a name like a fishy...join the Miami Dolphins.
Let's see...Our blunder is letting out of the bag, our draft secrets. OOOHHHHH...I'll bet New England and other great teams are salivating to see the inner workings of the Detroit Lions...
I already knew the invites ! It's in their blog. Aldon Smith, and a RB who's name escapes me. It's called sharing.
Channing Crowder: Mel Kiper lied, made me spend too much money Posted by Michael David Smith on March 29, 2011, 2:38 PM EDT Getty Images The Miami Dolphins selected linebacker Channing Crowder in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft, and that came as a surprise to Crowder, who had been expecting to go in the first round — and who had been spending money like a guy who was banking on a first-round contract. Six years later, Crowder is still bitter toward ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., whom Crowder says was the person who made him think he would get a multimillion-dollar rookie contract. Crowder said on WQAM that he watches the draft every year, but he watches it with some skepticism toward Kiper and the other so-called draft experts. “Yeah I watch it and all,” Crowder said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “Mel Kiper and all, he messed me over, he lied to me, told me I was top-20 had me go out and spend X amount of dollars and then owe the bank stuff. So I don’t know the guys. They’re guessing just like we guess — I can guess who the Dolphins are going to take too. But I look at it a little bit and hear the ‘experts,’ I guess they call them, to see what they say.” ------------------- He probably spent money on advertisement to enhance his selection. Maybe ~$250k ?! And a nice car. All those stories about Kong Suh before the draft weren't free.
I hate to agree with TheeTFD, but I think this is a non-story. Everyone knows where all these guys are visiting. There are no secrets at this point. Teams are probably having some guys visit just to send smokescreens.
The actual damage may be minimal, but the act was reckless and the information COULD have been very confidential. I still think it was stupid. The organization needs to exercise more caution. Losing draft picks is unacceptable.
Crowder doesn't say how much he spent. Just that he didn't go as hi as Mel k thought. Which may've been out of his loan reach. But clearly the banks were as stupid? Or as usual their risk was minimal !
Mel Kiper published a 3-round mock draft yesterday. He has the Lions taking: Pick #13: Prince Amukamara, CB Nebraska There may be questions about how perfectly Amukamara fits Detroit's scheme, but it's hard to believe they'd pass up perhaps the best pure cover corner in the draft at this position. The Lions are desparate for an upgrade at the cornerback position, and Amukamara is capable of contributing very early. Great awareness, instincts, ball skills and underrated speed. He also has better-than-average size for the position. Round 2: Bruce Carter, LB North Carolina Round 3: Marcus Gilbert, OT Florida
Yeah, read the same art. Peterson was rated a top 2-4 pick maybe he has fallen some but that's cause nobody knows who's going where ! The QBs that were 20-25 picks now could go 8-18 all the CBs have fallen but Prince A. also is a 3-6 value.
