Most-hated major league baseball team? Not Yankees, report says - ESPN Get a load of this crock. Methinks your formula sucks when the results don't remotely match reality.
LOL. Who hates the Indians? Most people could care less about the Indians. The Yankees, however, are very easy to hate.
Yeah, I agree. I've never heard ANYONE say they hated the Indians. They stink. They always stink. Maybe their own fans are frustrated with them...but who really hates them? On the other hand, back in the 70's I remember reading a Sports Illustrated article where they were saying the Lions were one of the top five hated NFL teams. And the writer was saying, "OK, we understand these other teams being hated...but what have the Lions ever done to anyone???"
Actually, if you look closer at what Neilson did, it was a sentimentality analysis of local fans online messages towards their own teams. Giants, A’s Tops Among Baseball’s “Sentimental” Favorites | Nielsen Wire ESPN just sensationalized the headline to mislead the readers.
So basically it was a measure of which team's fans are the most/least optimistic about their team this year, while also factoring in which teams have lots of opposing fans that dislike the team. Cleveland must really suck if their own fans give them more negativity than the Yankees get from their haters around the league. Of course the Yankees get a lot of love from a lot of people, too, so that is probably why they aren't in last place in this analysis..
I'm not starting a new thread but where else to put this. Wow. An amazing catch by Darwin Barney to break Dan Uggla's hitting streak at 33 games.
