The White Knight must ride! Nothing fires me up more than staying up into the middle of the night to watch some putrid basketball.

We need a big man. Elden Campbell. Sign him, and we have a big that can give us some minutes in the post.

Rip is wearing goggles, but has dyed his hair blond. They had a big discussion about it on "Around The Horn".
Woody thinks that Billups may dye his hair too....

It is cool that Dumars is now tweeting, sometimes during the games (#JoeD). Here a couple of Tweets that address that last couple of posts:

Looking at signing another big man to a 10-day contract. Worked out Kelvin Cato and Corliss Williamson this morning.

I'm not crazy about Rip's blonde hair. It worked for the Worm, but Rip's no Worm.

Looks like those extra 25 pounds that Austin Daye put on this summer while visiting Russia has slowed him down a bit..

Spotted at the Catalina Jazz Club on Sunset Blvd., enjoying lunch was Tom Gores. He was joined by former Piston "Bad Boy" Bill Laimbeer and another gentleman who went by the name of LaDre. Tom said that his lunch guests would be joining him at the game tonight between Golden State and His Detroit Pistons. Speculation began to run rampant that Tom was ready to make a move within the Piston organization.

These late night west coast games are tough, especially during the week. I hope I can stay up late enough to not watch this one.

Lunch was great, but I got a text message from my wife that she had tickets to the X-Factor and Jimmy Kimmel, so I decided that both would be better than hopping on a plane and flying up to Oakland to watch the a basketball game with those "poor" players. So we attended X - Factor where I drooled over Nicole Scherzinger They threw us out because I kept trying rundown the aisle to hug Nicole....so we are on are way to Kimmels on Hollywood Blvd. Maybe I will catch part of the game on XM radio as I sit in my car waiting for the show to begin it's taping:biggrin:

I just saw a guy on TV getting escorted out of X-Factor by security. I should have realized it was you when I recognized the PistonsForum t-shirt. At least Rascoe got some free publicity out of your stunt.

I have no idea what the X-Factor is, but I am pretty sure the Pistons need one this season if they are going to have any hope of making the playoffs.

The Pistons finished 1-2 on the West Coast trip, so they now stand at 2-4 overall. If not for the two heart-breaking losses, Detroit would easily be 4-2 right now. It was nice to see Vernon Macklin get some extended burn against the Lakers.

Wednesday, November 2 vs. Indiana WIN 87-86
Saturday, November 5 at New Jersey LOSS 105-82
Sunday, November 6 vs New York LOSS 91-90 OT
    Wednesday, Nov 9 @Golden State WIN 105-94
    Saturday, Nov 12 @Portland LOSS 99-98
    Sunday, Nov 13 @Los Angeles LOSS 111-83

The Pistons are thankful to be back home to the friendly confines of the Palace and the raucus crowds of 5,000 fans. The 3-game homestand looks like this:

    Tuesday, November 15 vs Phoenix
    Friday, November 18 vs Atlanta
    Sunday, November 20 vs Indiana

The Detroit Pistons were still feeling a little road-weary last night as they struggled against the suprisingly hot Phoenix Suns. After just missing the playoffs last season, the Suns jumped came out of the gate this year with a 6-1 record, their only virtual loss coming against the Lakers in a controversial game that saw 7 Phoenix players ejected.

The backcourt of Jason Richardson (19 points) and Steve Nash (15 points, 15 assists) proved to be the difference last night as Piston youngsters Brandon Knight and Terrico White (filling in for the injured Rodney Stuckey) struggled to keep up. The 83-year old Grant Hill continues to defy age as he nearly put up a triple double with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.

The Pistons young front court of Jason Jerebko (14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks), Greg Monroe (8 points, 11 rebounds), and Vernon Macklin (5 points, 6 rebounds) kept it close in the first half, but the Suns pulled away with a 14-2 run to start the 3rd quarter. The final score was 99-83 as Phoenix ups its record to 7-1, while Detroit falls to 2-5.

Despite the loss, coach Lawrence "Doogie Howser" Frank still seemed upbeat a few minutes after the game. "If we put forth this type of effort every night, those 2,000 fans in the stands are getting their money's worth, irregardless of the outcome. When we started out 0-16 in New Jersey, we had guys not coming to work every day. In fact, I don't even remember showing up for a few of those games."

It's a great thing that both Nash and Jerebko are on my fantasy fantasy team.

Yea, you virtually drafted Jerebko one spot ahead of me in our virtual draft. Argh! I made the mistake of drafting Austin Daye. I was surprised he decided to stay in Russia and keep playing after the lockout ended. I was also surprised when he married that Russian girl after only being there for a few weeks.

That wasn't a "marriage" marriage apparently. More like a live-in groupie. Daye is huge in Russia.
