I was worried Jerebko might pick up a lot of bad habits/attitude when he changed his name to Jason. Something the NBA might want to consider during this lockout: I wince every time I read the upcoming schedule and think about watching these games.
Jason Jerebko, the younger brother of injured Piston Jonas Jerebko, turned out to be a great off-season pickup by Joe Dumars. When Jonas went down with a calf injury in the lockout-shortened training camp, Joe swiftly signed the very young Swede and Jason has paid immediate dividends for Detroit.
Kinda excited about the new promotion at the Palace Friday night. With Atlanta coming to town, fan attendance is expected to be down...so the Pistons are having a Mr. Belvedere Appreciation Night. The slogan for the team that night will be, "WE DO GOOD WORK". It is believed that Mr. Belvedere will be in Mr. Gores private box that evening...giving the owner an estimate for a remodel. The first 5,000 customers will recieve 1 pound of nails...an of course...a free estimate...
The Pistons with a 99-73 blowout victory over the Pacers last night put an end to Detroit's 4-game losing streak. A missed layup at the buzzer by Rodney Stuckey cost the fans a free Cinnamon Twist from Taco Bell each time the Pistons score over 100 points. The crowd left the building disappointed despite the 26-point victory. It was a nice rebound win after dropping another heartbreaker on Friday night, this time to the Atlanta Hawks. Joe Johnson scored 67 points as Atlanta won 103-101. "If you take away Joe Johnson, we won that game 101-36," Coach Lawrence Frank boasted in the postgame press conference. Detroit takes its 3-6 record on the road to Indiana tomorrow night in a strange scheduling quirk that see the Pistons and Pacers virtually playing each other 3 times in the first 3 weeks of the season.
