I'm a little surprised Beilien has done as good a recruiting job as he has. Good for UM and good for the B1G
B1G TEN... Beilien I figured would pull Michigan Basketball back to respectablility. Catching MSU is another story...
Looking both good and a little sloppy against Duke at the half, down 1. Dawson and Payne have bright futures
The youth exposed itself in the 2nd half. Green & Nix didn't look very good either. Still, the potential for good things is there. I think Izzo will round the team into shape before the conference schedule and put up a fight for the B1G title. Congrats to Coach K on becoming the winningest coach in mens NCAA B-ball history. I thought Knight was gracious losing the title. He's my favorite NCAA color guy.
Just wonderin...Is coach K considered an innovator? Has he originated any basketball related concepts? ...or did he just win games...
Michigan finally plays MSU tonight........... http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ap-t25-michiganst-michigan
Wolverines win 60-59 tonight in a close game.......... That's three in a row over the Spartans of MSU......... Darth will probably go with blue water in his toilet now...............
Great game as M controls the first half and then lets Sparty control the game down the stretch until the last minute of play when the Wolverine defense took over and won by 1. The Spartans were dominate in the paint in both halves, but could not get that ball in the bucket when it counted. Michigan now 12-0 at home this season as they defeat the Spartans for the 3rd straight time...I suspect a Spartan victory however when the teams meet later in East Lansing.
Nice game by the Wolverines. The defense on the last play was outstanding as the Spartans just couldn't get anything going.
Yea, I was surprised they couldn't set up a better shot with a timeout and a full shot clock to work with.
Michigan is 13-0 at home this season........However, they're 3-5 on the road. Beating Purdue on the road last night hopefully gives the team some road confidence. MSU is 4-4 on the road........while being 12-0 at home. UM has 6 road games and 4 home games left. MSU has 5 road games and 5 home games left...... I wonder if anybody will dominate the Big Ten this season.......just don't think so.......
Congrats to Coach Izzo for his 400th win.......... http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ycn-10886679
Tough patch coming up for Michigan... They play at OSU.... Next, Indiana at home....... after, at MSU..... Think we can win 2 of those......losing 3 would be a disaster.........
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ap-t25-michiganst-green Ouch.........luckily...he has several days to rest up before Michigan on Sunday. Michigan plays Indiana Wednesday, before the Sunday Spartans Thriller.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ap-t25-michiganst-green Ouch....luckily, they don't play again until Sunday.......against Michigan. Meanwhile, Michigan gets Indiana on Wednesday. A tune-up for MSU...........
I watched that game. Draymond has a lot of heart. After he sprained his knee, he would hop over to the huddle in obvious pain and put his arms around his teammates while Izzo talked.
This was a contest for the first 4 minutes when the game remained tight at 0-0. The Sparty begain to show their muscle in the paint and although the Wolverines kept it between 7 and 14 the rest of the way, it was pretty much a game that most of America knew the Spartans would win. And that my friend answers the question as to why two teams who open the game with 17 victories each are ranked so far apart>>>MSU 9th and UM 23rd. Michigan was not aggressive enough going inside and Hardaway Jr refused to drive. Once again Michigan runs into the same issue they had last week where can't even get to the FT line in the first half. MSU has a Draymond Green who at one point had more rebounds than the entire Michigan team. Michigan which starts a forward and four guards, needs a Draymond Blue next season that can get them to the promise land and help out Morgan who always seems to be sitting on the bench instead of out there playing in the paint. Not sure if it was Michigan's defense or not, but seems like MSU should have won this one by at least 20..
