Interesting fact. This was the first Sugar Bowl since 1945.........

That didn't have at least one team ranked in the top ten...............

Man, what a great game. So many twists and turns (that all seemed to go Michigan's way). Every time Beemer gambled he lost. They were all good gambles except for the punt fake. Both teams were playing without some of their best players and with certain guys hobbled, so I thought that there was a lot of heart shown.

Michigan's D stuffed up the middle all night and tightened up in the red zone pretty nicely.

On the instant replays, I thought that the refs made the right calls all night. The last play was the closest and it came down to this: the player's elbow seemed to graze the ground right before the rest of his body landed out of bounds. Is that a TD? I would guess yes, but not 100% sure on the rule. Great catch nonetheless. Gibbons with a false start? Maybe, but he probably would have nailed it from 5 yards further out anyway.

Too much is definitely put on these exhibition bowl games IMO. If it's not for the National Championship, then it basically like a Harlem Globetrotters game.

Probably slightly more than we paid the refs!

Michigan has a lot of players to replace for 2012.
Our draft class was fairly decent though, and some freshmen played a lot on D this season.
On offense, Molk....the center.......will be sorely missed, but all the important big play guys come back.

Next year will be important for both UM and MSU as future recruits will be watching to see how we do.

Michigan opens up against the defending champion Alabama Crimson Tide on Sept 1, in Texas.

For the Wolverines sake, lets hope most of those senior defensive players graduate ( and the Lions draft a couple of them)

Wow. That was the most dominant college defense I've ever seen. A 3 point lead would have felt like more than enough if you were rooting for Bama.

We could offer to swap games with MSU. those guys are always complaining about not getting enough respect.
Yea...........we could play Boise State, and give the attention hungry MSU fans good ole Alabama.
I didn't watch the game but understand that Alabama just handled them............

We will settle this one on one like we have the previous four (4) years...brother.

Yes, you could play Boise State. You COULD play Wisconsin (twice) too. Or maybe you COULD play more than FOUR games out of TWELVE on the road all season.

Hey, better yet...You COULD play in a Big Ten Championship game before going to a BCS bowl.

Michigan COULD do a lot of things.

Good luck with Alabama. I want nothing to do with them. We learned our lesson in the 2010 Capital One Bowl! :boom::yield:

Tater... surrender? If you want to be one of the big boys your going to need a couple of marque out of conference wins.... Mich will not be favored to win the game by any stretch of the imagination... but you have to take on the challenge.

If the Wolverines can hang with them and actually score a TD or two, prior to losing, they can go on to have a successful 11-1 season...

Nice to see the 49ers win the game today. With a former Michigan QB as their coach...I just knew that they would be competitive and pull out a victory.

Nice to see New England clobbering the Broncos this evening. With a Former Michigan QB as their HOF QB...I just knew that they would be competitive and race towards a victory.

Hopefully Drew Stanton and Kirk Cousins are watching.........and learning....

Hopefully Drew Stanton and Kirk Cousins can teach nemo a lesson in humility...although nemo is a very slow learner.

I like both of those guys a lot. I've always been positive about them both.
I just kinda feel that they could still learn more about the game from players who have more experience.
Humility is something that cannot be exposed here as long as BillLaimbeer is posting. :)
I am slow at some areas of learning while speedy at others.................
I would be honored to have lunch with either of those guys....just for the engaging conversation.
