The defense was giving up yards in that first half...but they caused two costly TO's by the Broncos that were turned into direct TD's as the Wolves won in a rained called shortened game 34-10. They were driving for another score when the game was called for rain and lightening with about 1:45 or so left in the third quarter and never to resume.
No Heisman heroics by Robinson, but they didn't need them with the two defensive scores.
Next week they play the Irish who are having their issues today with the lightning and red zone turnovers,
I'm not concerned about Denard. I would like to select a feature back though before the Big Ten season starts. Last year's coach was only worried about his job...so he played Denard to death. This year's coach is doing his job...looking for that starting feature back. Offense will be ok, as long as the feature back emerges...
Defense was on the field too long....love the turnovers though...and the final score..
You say this about every game....
Last season, the offense would score after a 1:10 drive. Then the defense would get pounded for 10 minutes. I'm tired of that type of football...
On Saturday, Western ran 56 plays. We ran 39 plays...
Just beat the stuffing out of em and get the ball back....
"It also stormed horribly on the Irish last week, so the football gods clearly are trying to dampen some arrogance"
Is Woj being funny, or ironic, or something?
He's a really good writer but he has shown such bias toward U of M it isn't even funny.

"Pick: Michigan 33-31"
I think he is off on his pick. I think Michigan win by more. Notre Dame sucks. Only Rich Rodriguez could lose this one.
Pick: Michigan 34-24
I actually think that Michigan will lose this game, but I don't wish to predict a score since this is not the outcome that I wish....
Michigan improved in talent both at coaching and in the player too. It isn't going to lose this home game. You still think Notre Dame is better than they are.
If anything, Notre Dame will taste it's first flesh on their home turf against another team from Michigan.
Now...make your prediction already, Guppy Guts.
MSU 37 - ND 17
MSU should have no problem with these guys....
I just read where Michigan Stadium is the oldest free standing sports structure in the Big Ten...it is 84 years old...Constructed in 1927...
I wondered if they Included Joe Paterno. born December 21st, 1926...
He's not really free standing anymore.
Notice how he always seems to be carried around by football players...
Wow, what an exciting finish and great win for the Wolverines!!
We did win in thrilling fashion. Loved the middle of the field reception with 20 seconds left. A nice heads up play by the WR to get the most yards possible and then stop the clock.
I wish the second leading rusher for the Wolverines had more than 10 rushing yards. We also gave up gobs of yards on defense, but seemed to improve the "D" in the 2nd half...
Overall...a glorious win in front of the national audience...like only Michigan can.......
Wow. Did that 4th quarter REALLY happen?
That win topped Michigan State's win over Notre Dame last year.
No really...did it happen???
What can you say....Denard Robinson beat the Irish again ....he even out passed the Notre Dame QB with 338 yards to 315 despite completing only 11-24 passes. He scored 5 TDs including one on a fumble recovery and at least three of the TD passes were questionable...but this was the big house and despite a few other BS interference calls, the refs had to reward those fans who were not used to being out in a stadium that late at night..
+++In fact they want go home are still there partying 30 minutes after the game was over+++
The defense was suspect on both sides, but especially in the last 2 minutes. It will be a long bus ride back to South Bend for the Irish, especially if their coach is still cursing them out. I know Regis Philbin will still be cursing on Monday morning when he tapes his show. Nine turnovers for them in the first 2 games...ouch!
Very fun win, but clearly this team doesn't have their stuff together yet... and doesn't have the talent on defense. I really like the vibes from the coaching staff though. RichRod just had a very slimy aura and spent most games screaming at players. I'm very optimistic that this year will be a momentum builder and next year will be solid. The year after that could be the one if still in college and healthy.
Toledo vs OSU was a pretty good game too.
- ND ran 72 plays and we ran only 50.
- Denard averaged over 30 yards per completion.
- Denard was responsible for all the yardage, except 8 carries for 13 yards.
- Defense was on the field way too long.
- Hopkins, our leading back had 5 carries for 10 yards...and one fumble...
- We're certainly not ready for Big Ten football...We need more dogs on this team...
3-0. Only 9 games from a perfect season.
Stuggled vs EMU in that first quarter, but both the defense and offense did enough to win a game they were supposed to win. (31-3)
The interception by the Wolves in the secong qtr was the key to the turnaround, but once again needed D-Rob to run the ball get the O jumpstarted...still don't like those floating passes....they will surely get picked in Big 10 play.
