EMU was controlling the game for a pretty long while. Glad that didn't last.

Overall, a pretty solid day for the Big 10. All the good teams won and Iowa had a nice comeback against Pitt. Illinois even knocked off a ranked opponent. And the newcomer, Nebraska, put up a ton of points.

The only real blemish was Army over Northwestern.

Michigan Playing SDSU looks like a losable game for the Wolverines. They still have my concerns that I stated earlier, as they try to function with a one man offense. I can't wait til a RB emerges from the scrap heap and actually has a good game. I don't predict scores for Michigan cause I just don't know what to expect.

Some people are picking SDSU to pull off the upset.

    Michigan 56

    San Diego State 0

    No pressure, guys.:pound:

Wolverine mistakes are allowing SDSU to hang around. This should be a blowout, but it is still 21-7 after 3 quarters.

SDSU has scored at least 21 points in their last 17 games. I was concerned about playing these guys. SDSU has had the ball in our end of the field about 12 times...yet only 7 points so far............our Defense is playing better. Unlike last season.

We're still not controlling the clock. SDSU ran 15 more plays than us. That will allow any team to hang around. Even though the defense is improving, we still need to run one of our backs 20 times in a game to take the loaf off of Denard.
I saw better running, but I hope were ready to play against the hogs that occupy the trenches in the Big Ten.

Nemo, I think it is cute how you refer to the Wolverines with terms like "us" and "we", as if you were a member of the team. :yellowprison:

Going on the road against Minnesota next week. Minnesota played USC pretty well in Game 1. Denard still can't throw the ball. I hope he improves enough toward the end of the season to keep the defenses honest. Two more wins until bowl eligible. :pound:

I just go with the pronouns we and they a lot. Just a habit...I guess.

    I don't wear the jersey though...cause I don't play the game...:)

It's "we" after a win, "they" after a loss.

I really enjoyed the 4th down call on the last drive of the first half. That turned out to be a devastating blow. Instead of punting and possibly allowing SDSU to make it 7-14 at halftime, UofM goes up 21-0, kills the clock, and then gets the ball back to start the 2nd half. It was very Belichick-esque. It seemed like a gamble, but I'm guessing that move had a positive EV when all variables are considered.

The stat of the game- SDSU made it across mid field 11 times and only scored once! This defense has been causing turnovers like crazy (or getting really lucky).

It's always been that way in my book too...especially if they have losing record too, to boot.

Like those Pistons of the past couple of years...yep "they" lost a lot. But I still faintly recall when "we" won the whole thing in 2004.. :)

This game could have been a runaway if not for "M's four turnovers, expecially in the third qtr. Robinson passes are a thing of beauty... well good if a teammate catches it

    Last year...we started out 5-0...:)

They then lost the next 3...:cold:

We came back to win the next 2 and be a respectable 7-3...:)

Then they lost the last 3, including the Bowl Game massacre...:cold:

    Bue-bye Rich Rod...:)

    Hopefully...this year...less streaky....:gun1:

Nemo, do you think you will beat Michigan State this year?

Michigan seems to have made some great strides on their defense this season. The running backs game is still suspect, which leaves our victory in question...

    Ahhhh heck. You want CLEAR...

I originally picked the Wolverines to win this game and be the only blemish on the MSU schedule this season. I figured that if Sparty lost with a great team to Michigan, then they would run the table. Instead, Sparty loses to an average ND team throwing off the karma for the annual battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy. With the game up in East Lansing, the karma actually swings over to the Wolverines side, but State should win a close battle.

Wolverines won 58-0 today setting aside the woeful Gophers.

Again...good, solid defense...giving up no points this week.

Offense looked good, but maybe due to a lack of Gopher defensive speed...talent.

    On a side note..........

If Rich Rod had been the coach this season, the Wolverines woulda won 58-56,

and Rich Rod woulda said, "great game today"...
