There was gonna be one anyways, so here it goes. The starters are announced, as you all know. East: Rose, Wade, LeBron, Amare, Howard West: Paul, Bryant, Melo, Durant, Yao Now everybody's talking about subs and snubs. Here's DBB's take on it: Drunk and Surly: All-star snubs edition - Detroit Bad Boys
Great read... My drunk and surley opinions....the west has way more deserving players who won't be playing. I might leave nash off and maybe put Ellis on there....this may be the only year that he plays this well... No way Duncan needs to be on this year asI can tell you him being on fantasy team has produced no value....the SPurs are doing well due to a team and coaching effort, but I would consider Aldridge if Dirk gets hurt before the AS game.. In the East, we realize the Heat, Celtics Bulls and Magic are the 4 best teams, but an Allstar team loaded with all of them and Horford and Devin Harris?? I don't see Rodney Stuckey or Ray Allen worthy of going to the game either...but who is left??
After the starters, the East is weak. Rondo and Wall would be near locks but they've both missed 10 games or so. I'd probably fit in Rondo purely for the better team record. Felton is far more deserving than Stuckey, Allen or Harris. I would ordinarily be against the Boozer pick as he has only played half the games, but there aren't many better options. It's so hard to pick any one of the Hawks without picking all of them. They are all fringe-worthy. Joe Johnson is probably the pick if any. I'd take Bogut over Horford first, but still maybe have a spot for Horford. Bogut leads the league in blocks and is probably in the running for DPOY. His scoring has been disappointing but not surprising as nobody apart from Jennings bothers to get him the ball. East Reserves Felton, J.Johnson, Bosh, Pierce, Bogut, Horford, Rondo I really didn't want to put any Spurs on the roster. Not because of any hate (though there is pain), but they are like a more successful Hawks. Just no one outstanding player and 3 solid fringe all-star guys. I suppose you make Duncan the replacement for Yao, but Ginobili is probably the most deserving Spurs player. He is just not a sexy pick. It would be out of him and Ellis for a wildcard spot because Deron and Westbrook are no-brainer's to me. West Reserves Deron, Westbrook, Love, Nowitzki, Gasol, Griffin, Ginobili (and Duncan as Yao's replacement). Ellis gets the snub. Sorry bro. Aldridge and Gay are the next unluckiest. Eric Gordon maybe next year!
Best team in the West so far: San Antonio Spurs Best team in the East so far: Boston Celtics However, no one from the teams above is an All Star starter. Has this happen before?
Pistons’ Monroe makes All-Star rookie team | Detroit Free Press | freep.com It looks like Stuckey got snubbed.
Maybe next year. Congratulations to Greg! Rookie All-Star team in his first rookie season. Not bad...
Dream match-up here: Justin Bieber, Magic Johnson to meet in NBA All-Star celebrity game | detnews.com | The Detroit News
I will be at this game Friday after next, so I can get some close up pictures of the Bieber for you Bill and post them.....
The Pistons sorted cheated on this. They actually let Monroe play so he could earn his way into the game.
I predict that Rod takes this snub seriously and works on his outside shot over the Summer. He WILL play his way onto the Soph squad next season.
I'm going out on a limb and predicting that he'll be a Sophomore next year. ...on another note; Congrats go out to Amir Johnson this year for attaining Soph status!
That would be sweet if Stuck could team up with Monroe on the sophomore team next year....provided Rod doesn't collide into Gmoney....
