A new avatar is needed in preparations for tonight's lottery. We need some powerful mojo to work in our favor. Any ideas?

I am confused...based on the stats Cole put up, I am thinking he is a big...20 rebounds at 6-2?? Was anyone on the Youngstown team over [STRIKE]6 ft tall?[/STRIKE] 5'5"?

Also on one hand the article infers that Marcus Morris won't be working out with the Pistons and then he says "he's disappointed". The Pistons don't want to work him out or he doesn't want to work out for them???

He's disappointed the Pistons don't want to work him out....maybe jealous of his brother getting an invite.

I can't validate this, but it seems like every team that Blake Griffin worked out for in 2009, they worked out his brother Taylor too, and he was picked 48th by Suns and eventually waived after playing only 8 games in 09-10 season.

Wonder if the Morris twin got an invite from any team??

Pistons will probably get him there now that see the story and his disappointment?? WTH, he could be a walk on later, and you would at least know what he can offer.

Aren't both brothers supposed to go in the top 15?

The only way we end up with one of these guys is if we're involved in a trade.

    Kenneth Faried. Or Jimmer Fredette.

I am watching the NBA Draft Combine on ESPNU...and both Faried and Fredette are there participating.

They are projecting Tristan Thompson (PF from Texas) as the Pistons 8th pick in their mock draft with Kemba Walker going 7th and Bismoke going 9th.

They are also saying that the top 5 power forwards in the draft are as follows:

    Tristan Thompson
    Jan vesely
    Marcus Morris
    Kenneth Faried
    Donatas Motejunas

Thompson (6'9 235) has a great vertical leap, plays good D, but offensive skills are a year a way.

as you can see in the very first scene, he already has the "don't care about traveling as the referees don't care about it either" - approach he'll need in the NBA

    Take that back!
That's just mean and cruel toward Kwame to insinuate that he has "butter fingers" when everyone knows he was born without fingers.

You owe Giant Turd a giant apology!

Interesting ESPN piece today about the success of #1 picks (or lack thereof).

Not a single #1 pick drafted after Tim Duncan has won a title. Here are the #1 and #2 picks since Duncan. Incredibly, Darko is the only one on the list with a ring and he sold it for charity... or threw it in the garbage. What this tells me is that crappy franchises tend to get the top picks and they can't capitalize on them (Cleveland for example). Also, teams go for big men (in bold).

    98- Olowokandi/ Bibby
    99- Brand/ Francis
    00- KMart/ Swift
    01- Kwame/ Chandler
    02- Yao/ J Williams
    03- LeBron/ Darko
    04- Howard/ Okafor
    05- Bogut/ M Williams
    06- Bargnani/ Aldridge
    07- Oden/ Durrant
    08- Rose/ Beasly
    09- Griffin/ Thabeet
    10- Wall/ Turner

Thabeet seems to be trying to rival DMC for biggest #2 bust in history. Drafted, broke jaw, sent to D-League, traded, send to D-League again by new team.

What kind of beast can we expect to pick up with our #8 pick?
    Larry Hughes
    Andre Miller
    Jamal Crawford
    DeSegana Diop
    Chris Wilcox
    TJ Ford
    Rafael Araujo
    Channing Fry
    Rudy Gay
    Brandan White
    Joe Alexander
    Jordan Hill
    Al Farouq Aminu

    Not great.

The only one in this group that has the talent to face the basket. As a jump shooter, drive to basket type (like James) and has finesse around the basket. This person is also a born three, the rest are not. Mark this down; he surpasses JJ, JMax, Daye, and even Tay as time spent. He has that certain attitude, plus outstanding range, moves, dribble and the best looking jump shot in this draft. He will get better the minute he steps on an NBA floor and will continue to do so. He is a young Grant Hill.

    That player is Marcus Morris.

Perhaps you should play that same game with the #9 pick.

The list looks a whole lot better.

    All is definitely not lost.
