Oh, I see. The Chargers looked AWESOME yesterday. Could be a tough game for the Lions. They may need to back their way into the playoffs....
I really think 9-7 gets us in cause the Eagles can win their divison with 8-8. They aren't out of it !!! Don't look now but Zona is 7-7, and not yet eliminated.
This play is cool. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...-8217-s-fumblerooski-touchdow?urn=nfl-wp14201
Zona and Seattle are both 7-7 and play each other in the last game of the year, so only one of them can mathematically catch us. And Seattle plays SF this week, so it probably won't be them. What a clutch performance by Staff at the end.
Calvin Johnson, who'll make his second straight Pro Bowl appearance, is having a career year with 85 catches for 1,437 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Lions have three other players -- quarterback Matthew Stafford, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and safety Louis Delmas -- as alternates. Eli Manning over Stafford? Discuss.
One stat on the Lions- the only team in the NFC playoffs that had a harder strength of schedule was the Giants. With losses only to NO (without Suh), Atl, GB, Chi (with Cutler), and SF... it has been an incredibly strong year. Lost to Atl and SF by 6 and 7 points. The Packers made it from Wildcard to SB Champs with a poor defense, so I'm saying that there's a chance. 1 in 50.
Romo has a higher passing rating: 102 to 96............ Romo has completed a higher percentage of his passes: 65.4% to 63.7%............ Romo threw less interceptions: only 9 compared to 14.............. Romo gets more yards per attempt: 8.0 versus 7.5............... I've watched Romo play this year and this has been his best season. His team has been stuckey suckey all around him. I like the choice......... Both teams had little running game effectiveness this season, but the G-men were dead last in running the ball. I think the biggest factor here for the voters was that Stafford had MEGATRON..which may dimish the QB value.
So, you would rank the quarterbacks like this? 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Drew Brees 3. Tony Romo 4. Eli Manning 5. Matthew Stafford
I had Eli in Fant. and he reeked of rancid inconsistency. [Flacco was a complete waste, even at home] But fans can still smell the SB around Eli. Of course I'd take Staff over Romo. Cam deserves honorable mention.
Naw.........I just wouldn't put Stafford in this year...that's the choice I'm talkin about. My Ranking............ 1. Drew Brees 2. Aaron Rogers 3. Tony Romo 4. Cam Newton 5. Matt Stafford 6. Eli Manning
I would take all 4 before Romo. It isn't my anti-Cowboy bias, either. He chokes. He's won one playoff game his entire career. Romo has Austin, Bryant, and Laurent! I would take Stafford right after Rogers. he is big time. He had no running back to keep the defenses honest. Rogers, Brees, and Manning have all taken their teams to Super Bowls and won. Romo is 5th on my list. Have you watched him play?
In this order. Rogers, Stafford, Newton (although it is so early in his career), Brees, and then Romo or Eli. Eli leads comebacks so probably him 5th and Tony 6th.
All the receivers that started a season with 6 tds in 3 games went on to score ~20 tds. Tron is coming up short especially with a TE having more tds than a WR this year. [Gronk] Tron needs at least 2 tds to finish the season.
Interesting how I rated the QBs this season. You guys gotta remember that I base my opinion on games that I was able to see here in Montana. It seemed like every game that I saw, Stafford had accuracy issues. Plus, they lost to Green Bay, Atlanta, New Orleans, and San Francisco, ........all playoff teams this season and they shoulda lost to Dallas........except the Cowboys decided to giftwrap one for us. I really believe that he is the future of our franchise, but this year.........he ran into a lot of QBs who are playing tremendously.........Remember..........at least 10 QBs will pass for 4,000 yards this season..........
Tigers and Lions in the playoffs in the same season? It just hit me. The Pistons are the only Detroit sports team that won't be in the playoffs this year! Kind of nice how our teams ham and egg for us.
At least some of the Piston players will bring home the bacon.......a little extra cheddar in the pay envelope. I'm gonna have an omelette for dinner tonight..........
